Our host reserved this hotel for us. He has just started to use it for guests. We arrived to find a very nice hotel room. I believe we had two queen-sized beds in a suite layout with a 3 step rise between two levels. One bed was on the lower level while the second bed and restroom was on the second level. ||||The hotel had all the amenities you would expect in an American hotel with a stocked refrigerator, snacks and toiletries. Bath towels were provided, but not wash cloths (we had brought our own just in case). The room was well air-conditioned, too cool according to my daughter. The room also had a balcony overlooking the front street. ||||Language was not much of an issue. They had at least one daytime staff working behind the desk that spoke English well enough. In the evening, the bellman spoke English. We also had a spanish-speaking host which did help but I think we would have been fine without. ||||Breakfast was great! Eggs scrambled with your choice of ingredients each morning to go along with several hot and cold items on the buffet. And I learned to eat soup for breakfast each day since that is part of the culture. The restaurant was on the 6th floor and had a high bar that you could sit at overlooking the city. I sat there each day gazing endlessly at the city. ||||The only negatives: one, we had a heavy day of rains on our last day that left some water on the lower level floor. It was not in the way however so we notified the staff and left it until morning. Two, we were on the front side of the building which made for a bit of a noisy start to the day (being on the street). Although it didn't bother me a lot, I would ask for something on the back side next time if it was available. And three, I would ask for a higher floor. They had a conference going on for a few days and, being on the 2nd floor, it was kind of loud into...

The suite had a spacious living area, but the kitchen area had no functional equipment, and the bedroom was small and the bathroom very small, given the overall size of the suite these could have been bigger, the bedroom was the only room with air con, and it was noisy but functional on full power. There was also a fan in the main living area, but only half worked and very noisy. There were some hairs in the bedroom and the bathroom cold fawcett fell off in hand, shower unit needs deep clean. Given the budget is was OK, just need a better clean, however the two main problems were poor Wi-Fi which I needed for work, 2nd day it did not work in the morning so walked to another hotel to work. But the major problem is noise during the day and night, some windows are only covered by gauze to allow air circulation, but this means the street noise is very loud until 2 or 3 in the morning. There is a pool but cold and very small on rooftop. The restaurant is basic but functional, food is adequate and inexpensive, staff are friendly and nice. stay was ok but not best experience, I would...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and were first allocated a room on the 5th floor. This was very small but the most important thing was the toilet didn't flush. ||||We decided to upgrade to a suite (Havana Suite) which proved to be a bad move. ||||The suite is located on the 2nd floor (beside the trim room) but very close to all the street noise. The hotel is located on, at times, quite a busy street with numerous bars all playing loud music) as the closest neighbours. The ambient noise levels in the room were high due to exterior music and people noise during the night. During the day/evening the traffic noise was disturbing. even though both the glass doors to the balcony were closed. Single glass windows throughout did not do anything to reduce the noise. The hallway outside the room was used as a meeting room during our stay. ||||The room otherwise was clean and well looked after with the following exceptions: ||||- Pillows very hard X||- Bedside Lights - there were none! X||- Jacuzzi - drain could not be closed - so no jacuzzi X||- Fridge - starts and stops throughout the day/night X||- WIFI was extremely slow and as such unusable||||I believe the construction of the hotel with open sides to the guest rooms adds to the noise problem. The staff were friendly and courteous. The...
