I had an overall pleasant stay, especially since it was the beginning of the week and the restaurant was completely empty. I imagine it gets much noisier during events.
We stayed in the Deluxe King Room, which was spacious and comfortable. There’s no air conditioning, but the fans kept us cool since the room doesn’t get direct sunlight. Catalina at reception was absolutely lovely—friendly and professional. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said about some of the other staff.
The hotel offers several areas to relax or work, plus a section of dorms near the pool. The pool itself is large, clean, and well-maintained. Breakfast isn’t provided, but you can skip the pricey nearby restaurant and instead head across the street to Coffee History or to the main street, where breakfast costs around 15,000 pesos.

Read moreWorst hotel experience ever. Sometimes when you arrive somewhere and people treat you in a certain way you already know it is bad, well that was Kanta Sana.
After I was gone the hotel deducted 2 extra nights of my credit card (I didn't even know they could do this).
After that there was a long story about cancelled payments and other BS, they wanted to have a video call "so we could come to a solution". All they tried to do was to convince me I'm wrong, in the end of the call they even called me names in Spanish because they thought I didn't understand it.
In the end we paid for 4 nights while we only stayed 2 nights. Rooms are overrated and overall vibe at the hotel is terrible.
I hope I get my money back but people reading this and helping them avoid this disaster is my...
Read moreWe were surprised by the relaxed atmosphere of this hostel! It looks stunning: completely made out of bamboo. The staff is very nice and helpful and the common area with swimming pool is great. You can relax in a hammock, play table tennis or have a good drink at the bar. The location is fine: it is a 15 minute walk to the beach and close to all kinds of restaurants. The rooms are pretty basic: comfortable bed with a mosquito net and a cold shower, but we didn't need more, because we were only in the room at night. :) the weather turned really bad the first day and we had a little water in the room, but we didn't really suffer from this because the rest of the days were great! I can imagine that it might be a little annoying if there is a...
