After a less than stellar experience elsewhere in Leticia, I stumbled upon the Hotel Amazon Bed and Breakfast and what a delightful discovery it was! It had been some time since I last stayed at a bed and breakfast, but this gem provided a much-needed change of pace. Booking online just a day prior to my arrival was hassle-free. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by three lovely ladies who efficiently handled my check-in, setting a friendly tone right from the start. They quickly assigned me to a charming room that not only had a great layout and a comfortable bed but also featured a hammock, which added a unique and relaxing touch. Moreover, I had requested a taxi for the early morning, and it arrived precisely at 7 AM, which was greatly appreciated and indicative of the thoughtful and reliable service provided here. Overall, my stay at the Hotel Amazon Bed and Breakfast was truly wonderful - a stark and welcome contrast to my previous accommodations. It’s the perfect spot for anyone looking for a comfortable and authentic experience in Leticia. Highly recommended!

The employees is what truly makes this place great. Judy the manager is such a sweet lady, she works non stop to make sure people enjoy their stay, she is the most genuine person ive met on my travels. One day my girlfriend needed to go to the hospital and spend the night (not because of anything here in Leticia). When I told Judy she personally came down to the hospital with dinner, juice, blankets, pillows, and a pair of her sandals for my girlfriend to use. She sat down with us and said a prayer. The next morning at 6 am, she was there first thing in the morning to check on us, and to talk to the nurses to make sure we were provided good care. We stayed for 9 days at this hotel, and every day, Judy would sit and talk with us, suggesting safe activities we could do, making custom meals to satisy my pregnant girlfriends cravings. All the staff is kind and hardworking, but Judy really went above and beyond for us. Such a wonderful person that deserves all the praises I can give her. I would stay here again if for nothing else, because of her!

This place is great. The owner has the cutest dog in the world and is also super nice herself. She speaks English very well but the rest of the staff doesn’t. That’s fine, you’re in a Spanish speaking country so you should expect to speak Spanish. Our Spanish is not great so it was helpful that she spoke good English. The juice upon arrival was tasty and very refreshing. The rooms are great and get cooled off with the fans and opening the blinds. The breakfast is super good and service is great. They are very eco friendly there and it shows. It’s really nice that they care about their ecosystem and they encourage their guests to do the same. Yes, it’s a bit more expensive than some of the other places but I would 100% recommend it. It right by the park and a short walk to the docs.

I am not one to write positive or negative reviews, but in this case I need to vent for my own health. And I am stuck in BOG, SO here goes.

If you want to see the jungle go to Manaus or Iquitos, they are more developed and the tours and hotels much more transparent and much better bang for your buck in every aspect. I went to Leticia hoping to stay 5 days and left within 24 hours. Judith was the reason why, but I must thank her for saving me from probably more problems down and upriver. For me, she was not very nice once i started pricing tours,, did not like that I investigated different tours, and worst of all was her mendacity. She can be two-faced, arrogant, condescending, she believes her stories and I am sure she will reply to this in her way.

It is true the hotel is nice, clean and the employees, if not happy are ready to help. The price they quoted me was 250000 for a cabana, and I now believe I was probably overcharged. But I wanted a somewhat higher level hotel where I could leave my suitcase when I went on th river. If I were to do it again I'd go to a more simple hotel like Amazon real in the center for 100000. Why? It is nice, has a pool and the noise level is low.

The problem with the noise started at sunset when the rain stops. The parrots chirrped for a half hour and that was quaint and cool. Then it started and literally never ended. Packs of rough dogs, neighbors dogs, hungry dogs, sad dogs, angry dogs and more began to bark and did not stop. Have you been to a dog pound? It sounded almost as bad, but there where moments of silence, when you could then hear the calming chirps of crickets that could lull you to sweet sleep. And then, just as you slipped into sleep, another angry roaring bark wakes you up. This cycle goes on forever. I did not sleep. Judith admitted there were some barks but not so bad...get over it!

That night I said I can't sleep here. Please cancel my two remaining days. This is the worst noise at night I have ever heard. To add insult the wifi barely works even in the common areas, nada in the rooms. I could not put on my black noise to get me through the night.

I simply asked to have two nights refunded. I should paid for only one night so I could see how the place was.

Anyway, Judith made up a story that she would have to fine 30%. Rules are rules. Protocol, etc.

I said no thank you. We argued, she enjoys that and is not very good at guilt tripping.

In the end, she more less said the check would be in the mail after the government authorities reviewd the case. Total lie. She claimed I was harrassing her and more. Upon seeing she is probably a little disturbed I searched out the police and she encouraged it.

After 45 minutes finding the correct officials, the regular police called the tourist police, I escorted them to the hotel.

Surprise Judith was gone!

She was called to come to present her case.

After explaining my story to the police in the presence of the receptionist, the police said I deserved 100% of my money back. The receptionist stalled, after all I had booked the first flight out of town already and she knew it.

I told the police I would be back as I had to pack bags. In my absence mendacious Judy showed up and threw the police a pack of lies. I don't know if they believed her, but when I returned they firmly said, "take 80 percent, 400000, and leave. I said no, but they insisted and time was ticking to my flight time. I took the cash. I wanted a legitimate credit card refund. If the police had not mediated i likely would have received nothing.

I will be reporting this incident to my credit card. I tried to denounce the Amazon bnb but the police said if you take the cash you loose your right to denounce. Time ticked I took the cash as a complaint would probably not have gone far.

Save your time and money, avoid Leticia and enjoy the beauty of the rest of colombia. This is the...

Sie waren großartige Menschen.||——————————————————————————————————————————————————-||A real catastrophe !|we traveled with my family, we were approximately a group of 8 people. The truth is we had two problems with the Hotel manager.|||| In Leticia it is normal to take a tour to a neighboring municipality known as Puerto Nariño. The Tour usually has an estimated cost between $140,000 to $170,000 Pesos per person, which includes stops at the Isla de los Micos, Macedonia (Indigenous Community that has Handicrafts), Sighting of the Amazon Pink Dolphin and Theme Park "Victoria Regia (Lotus Flower)”.|||| The Hotel Administrator wanted to sell us this Trip through her own Travel Agency with a value of $190,000 pesos per Person, arguing that it was a Private Tour.|||| We decided the, to make the Tour with another tourism agency and then we realized how expensive they wanted to charge us in this Hotel.|||| It was then, when we only asked if it was possible to receive breakfast early before starting the trip to Puerto Nariño that had been reserved with another agency, to which the administrator from the Hotel replied, that she was not going to get up early to prepare breakfast, when we were going to go to the same tour with the competition.|||| That is not a response from a hotel manager. The next day this lady, repeated the same thing over and over again as she attended to other Guests while my father was near her. Is that Normal? Were we obligated to buy the tour with this lady?|||| Later we could realize that the hotel works according to the state of mind or humor of this lady. We were able to observe how she mistreated the hotel staff whose job it was to help her.|||| Two days before we left, in my parents' room, a strong Chemical derived from Hydrocarbons (Varsol) was applied to the floor with the excuse of repelling insects. People who know this chemical know that its smell is similar to that of gasoline and its permanent exposure causes serious irritation of the respiratory tract, conjunctiva and sometimes Narcosis.|| We still don't understand why. There were four rooms in which we were staying and it was only my parents' room that was "disinfected".|| A serious Hotel knows very well the risks involved in using these chemicals inside a closed space., specially in a Guestsroom!!! There remains a high suspicion that this was entirely intentional.|||| I do not recommend this Hotel, it is expensive and in my opinion there are better options in Leticia for the same price as the Waira, Anaconda or even Decameron itself. In addition, your stay may depend on the encouragement presented by the manager, who clearly demonstrated that if what she wants is not done, then she will not collaborate in other things that the hotel supposedly offers.|||| A pity for the native workers of Leticia who have to work in this Hotel. They were great...

Staying at the Amazon B&B was a great experience for multiple reasons.

The Accommodation Located close to the Parque __ in Leticia the hotel is in a central yet central location. Watching the parrots during the sundown is just a few steps away and when I stayed the staff gave us access to a rooftop terrace to watch the parrot spectacle. The hotel itself has nice and clean rooms and huts with A/C, ventilator and own bathroom. The patio is perfect to unwind, meet other travelers or just relax after nightfall.

Some other reviews have criticized the WiFi… honestly, look at the map. You are in the middle of a vast jungle. Any internet connection as well as the hotel wifi in the areas is good enough to send and receive text messages and the odd photo. Don’t count on being able to work remote or watch video streams, but that should be the reason to go to Leiticia to begin with.

Breakfast has three different options, always entails fresh fruits and is a perfect foundation for an adventurous day in the Amazon.

Activities I booked a four nights, five days package. It was an incredible experience. The hotel is very well connected within the local community and organized perfect logistics from the airport pick up, boat tours to staying one night in a hut in the jungle. When I had a stomach problem one of the days, the staff organized for a boat to pick me up and once back at the hotel they took incredible good care of me! The program itself is quite ambitious and one day when a few people wanted to do a bit less, the hotel organized for us to just go fishing with a local family, which was a very unique and authentic experience.

The people I cannot finish this review without repeating how amazing the staff is. They integrate members from the local community in the business and are simply very kind, helpful and...
