I have traveled to Medellin for a few years. I first found this hotel thro booking.com for its location that was walking distance to where I needed to go.||The lady during check-in the first day was super nice though I didn't speak Spanish. My friend who is local help me out as well.||As I didn't go out in the night. The location was fine. But there's not after 6 pm, not even food. I became the regular guests and they asked me not to book thro web-site to help them. ||We all know what we pay and what we get. It was really for their price and hospitality. I even wrote them good rate for those reasons. Basic needs for a clean bed and a private bathroom. Many time the air-conditioning didn't work. Hot water was slow. I was not demanding and only stayed for a sleep.||Place became a little busy and the rate went up. My friend did call them directly to book my room. Normally 3 days each trip. One time, I stayed for a week due to bad weather in US.||Last week, we booked for 10 days over web-site. After we got to Medellin, we needed to change our travel plan. We have to leave to another city for a couple of days. Once we checked in the hotel, we informed the hotel that we had to go out of town a couple of days and back again. He asked me to cancel the online booking. I did but then we realized he increased our rates that's much high than we booked from the web-site. Totally unusual than what we book thro' web-site or we called before. Bottom line, he ripped us off. Besides, he started to have an attitude.||My son and I were too tired and needed sleep before we could work the next day. The next day, we moved elsewhere and my son suggested not to book this hotel again.||For our 10 days in Medellin, we found other places near Cr 70 just a few minutes bus or taxi. Close to restaurants that open late. That were so much better. The difference of rate was enough for our food too. That would be my last time staying in Hotel...
Read moreWe made a reservation for a room with a double bed, what we got was a room with two 1.5 beds and a single bed, a family room I guess. Not a good start but we decided to stick with it. Mistake.||||The lights are like those in a hospital, bright and clinical and there is no natural light. Our window faces in to the hall, there is a light directly outside the "window" in the hallway which was on all night, and the blind is more or less transparent so our room never got dark. The noise from the hallway is very loud also.||||Honestly it was the worst night's sleep I've had in a hotel ever.||||Since 6am this morning the bathroom light won't turn off at all. The security deposit box is broken so we can't use that.||||The area isn't very nice to be honest either.||||Don't stay here, there are cheaper nicer places in other...
Read moreI personally thought this was great value for money so I am happy with the stay but you have to be aware of a few things:||||- The area around the hotel is very "central" so its not the prettiest at night, its not like the Poblado area. Saw sex workers at night and lots of people sleeping on the floor in the morning just a couple of blocks away from the hotel. The main avenue was fine though.||- It's right next to a main street so if noise is a problem for you (its not for me), you may want to avoid this hotel.||||The pluses:||-Excellent fast wi-fi (could be just the room i stayed in)||-Good Breakfast||-Next to the Metro station||-Can walk north or south easily to get to interest...
