EPM Library — Attraction in Medellín

This library is probably one of the best I’ve found for studying or just pure focusing. One of the great things about this library is that if you want to be by yourself on the 3rd floor (up the zig zaggy-like stairs) there are basically little cubicles you can stay in and close the door. You can fit maximum 2 people in there as well. There’s also a decently sized rooftop area with plants and you can eat there (or down at the cafeteria) because inside you can’t eat or drink.

Keep in mind that you’ll have to show some form of identification to enter the library so make sure to have your ID or passport (both work). They’ll give you a red card to scan and you’ll have to keep it through you’re whole stay. The whole enviornment is very quiet, clean and the lighting is perfect with being a bit more gloomy but not extremely dark either. There are a good amount of seats all around the library especially on the 2nd floor.

When you first walk in and already passed the security bag check and turn to the right you’ll be able to see a little gallery area as well. There are also a decent amount of information centers all around the library and they were all pretty friendly. There’s also pretty cool books of all genres as well. The internet...

You hear a lot of noise from outside and inside, people that enter there just to talk by phone or to chat, or make business (even the workers there) sometimes you find activities for kids in middle of library... so, noise everywhere... that building is everything less a library, they have a wrong concept of library.
