Bed: two double beds on one huge mattress that can sleep 3 adults. There is no seam between the two double beds because of one single mattress. Lights: plenty of light. 5 or 6 or 7 but many. I love it. Nice and bright. There are two light switches by the bed so you won’t fumble for the light switch if you need to p in the middle of the night. The ceiling light is over the bed so there is no need to have reading lamp. Room layout: this is truly the best in its class. I wish all the hotels are like it. There is a separate room for the toilet, for the shower and the washing basin is outside of both. This is so fantastically functional. If you have 4 in the room, one can use the washing basin, the shower, the toilet, on the bed at the same time. This is an A+++ Shower: great overhead . The shower head is square and on top of the head and not at an angle like some shower head. Breakfast : included. Choice of egg with sausage, ham or corn. Cheese, arepas, and a small roll, Coffee and juice. Room size: top notch. Big room. View: I was on the eighth floor out of nine. Great view. No noise, no mosquitoes. TV : big TV Air conditioner: not noisy and has a remote control. WiFi : works great. Staff: very helpful , very patient, knowledgeable. Total excellent Location of the hotel : great location. 5 to 10 minutes walk to metro station Estadio. The street leading to the station was alive pe and festive but not crowded. Friendly people. Love the ambience. Not seedy. I didn’t notice any prostitution. No filth sidewalk. Amenities: it has two garbage cans beside the standard one in the toilet as with all the hotels that I stayed in this trip. It has a hair dryer also , a safe and a small fridge stocked full of snacks and drinks for purchase.
The only flaw are there was is only one elevator. There are perhaps 5 .. I didn’t count but at least 3 . 9 stories high building. If all the rooms are occupied, it will take a while to go up and down and the breakfast area is way too small. The second minor flaw is the wall Is thin and I can hear snoring from the bed from the room to the left of mine. Either that or the guy snored extremely loud. The third minor thing is the hangers are not removable but there are 3 . Good for one person. The fourth is too much branding. By that I mean OBO word is on the mirror, the bed table, on place mats on the the breakfast table and I think on the napkins holder. Way too much branding but...
Read moreAfter hours of searching online, having decided against the Poblado district, we booked the Obo in Laureles. On arrival we were given the wrong room but this was quickly corrected. The hotel is modern, bright and clean. Our room, a Junior Suite, was on the 3rd floor and had a spacious, comfortable bed and a jacuzzi (not used by us). The shower is a cubicle within the room. The location is great. Nearby are restaurants, bars, and a supermarket. The metro is a few minutes away. Just across the road is a great little laundrette. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and some had a little English. ||||Our prepaid price included breakfast but the choice was very limited especially if one doesn’t eat eggs and prefers tea to coffee. The food quality was poor, both the ingredients and the cooking oil. After the 2nd day we decided to eat breakfast out.||||The shower was good. The sink was in the bedroom but had no hot water. On enquiring we were told that if requested hot water would be served in a jug. No matter we thought, as we had a travelling electric kettle. Unfortunately the sink plug did not work so there followed cold shaves for my husband for ten days.||||After reading the hotel reviews we were somewhat disappointed. Nevertheless we have only praise for the...
Read moreThree years ago I stayed here for 5 nights. It was great. I loved it then. I have tried booking plenty of times since then and it seems they NEVER have availability... EVER! Then, after not trying for a while, I decided to try to book a Junior Suite for my wedding night. They had a room! So I booked it about 3 weeks in advance. I used a credit card to hold it, got the email with all the booking info and reservation number. I emailed them the day of the booking to let them know we will be coming in super late. We got there, and they didn't even have my reservation. i don't mean they cancelled it or didn't have the room... I mean they couldn't even dind it when I showed them the email with the reservation number. Nothing! We left, we went somewhere else. It's a shame, this place used to be good. Now they just flat out suck. Zero effort to simply say "we have a room though" or, anything. Like, she just kept saying that she can't find the reservation. Anyway, there are better places, and for less money. Like one block away...
