Hotel Metropolitano Neiva — Hotel in Neiva

Rooms are very deceiving from the pictures. Extremely small, cold showers, uncomfortable bed and pillows - I had an aching neck and back and it was extremely noisy, we kept being woken up all night from people walking up and down in the hallway and talking. It echoed straight into the room. The air conditioning blows straight on to you which isn’t nice and too top it all off the only thing on the bed is one thin sheet! No duvet or other blanket of any kind. I would never stay here again. Worst night stay I’ve had in a long time. I cannot see how this gets 4 star hotel rating. It is barely a 2. TO THE RESPONSE COMMENT OF OWNER - we are not trying to tarnish, we simply wanted to warn people that your establishment is PATHETIC and they should save their money. This hotel was probably quite nice in the 1970s but it has fallen significantly. Problems included:|* When we called in advance, they assured us they had hot water. They did not.|* The rooms are supposedly equipped with lock boxes for valuables. The first one did not work. They brought another, and the key broke in the lock when I tried to open it. They said they would bring another but it never showed up so we were left without a lock box.|* The included breakfast was weak. Unripe watermelon followed by adequate scrambled eggs.|* The location is good and bad. It's in the city center, but the center is somewhat decrepit with homeless people sleeping in the park.|* Four remotes are required to operate the television. An employee explained how to use each. Reaction to managers reply: If the shower leaks all the water before it even reaches the shower head, it is most certantly NOT a problem of me not speaking spanish but because the shower was broken and not fixed before! Blaming it on the customer not being able to operate a shower is very bad management style.

We stayed two nights in this hotel. The staff was really friendly and patient (but did not speak English). The room was small but clean; the safe was not working and the shower was not really functional (though the bathroom was really nice). What really bugged me was that the walls were thinn and they started to clean the corridor around 8 in the morning... of course waking us up. All in all for the price you get a...
