Hotel Neiva Plaza — Hotel in Neiva

We stay here when we have the opportunity to visit the family in Neiva, usually for 2 weeks at a time. Due to Covid, this has been the first time in 2 years. Good stuff was the room and incredible housekeeping staff. Food and beverage staff was also great, though I miss the days when they had a chef. New a/c in the room was not as good as the old ones, perhaps undersized. Hot water was great in the mornings but not so good in the afternoon.||What I really missed was the daily greetings from the front desk and related service. 99% of the time they were buried in their computers (or phones) and did not acknowledge us as we came and went. It's not dreadful but it's not great either. |Whilst it's no problem, beware no English is spoken.|Staff are friendly. |We had a suite, it was huge, but quite minimalist. The hotel is dated and it looks sad and abandoned. Breakfast is of poor quality. Swimming pool looks old and does not look appealing. Rooms are small and dated. The location of the hotel is right in the center of the city. It is an area that is full of shady characters. It looks scary. Everything near the hotel closes early.
