This is a peaceful, beautiful hostel situated a perfect distance away from Salento. Far enough away to be fully immersed in nature and away from the overly touristy noise, but close enough for a 5 minute walk + 5-8 minute bus ride to town. Sandra runs the hostel— she is SO kind and readily available if you would need anything. Free coffee 24/7, well stocked kitchen, delicious breakfast (included), stellar hammocks, towels provided, and great internet connection (i worked remote here) i could go on!!!

important notes on getting in and out of town⭐️⭐️ bus cost: 1,900 COP ($0.46) frequency: every 15 minutes from hostel: walk 5 minutes from Posada Aguanile to the main road (you will be boarding at the end of the bus journey, the bus route will end at Salento station) from town: from bus station (you will be getting off 5-8 mins into a 45min journey. some bus drivers know the stop as “La Mochilla” so ask to be dropped there or be sure to have the location up on your phone, tell the driver to stop when you’re close. they will not stop otherwise)

alternative: there is a easy to moderate difficultly hike (45 minutes) that you can take into town. you’ll pass various fincas on the way (would not recommend this as being the go-to, maybe once or twice but generally speaking the bus is a...

When visiting Salento, and wanting to stay in a natural environment: Posada Aguanile is the perfect choice. We were very warmly welcomed upon our arrival by Maria, David, and two other ladies. The views and sounds of nature were a blessing for the soul, as well as the very motherly treatment we received from Sandra. Rooms were perfectly cleaned, always greeted with a warm smile and some excellent coffee. Healthy breakfasts included with fresh basil, eggs and bananas picked from the area. There's a colectivo bus that stops every 10 minutes to get to Salento center. Recommend taking this or an Uber, since the hike is pretty steep and dangerous due to traffic. Thank you very much for the warm stay, and...

Very chill hostel. The weather here is more chill because of the mountains. It's located near some fields and forests. Has a kitchen that has everything you will need. Rooftop with hammocks and multiple lounging areas. Free breakfast from 8 AM -10 AM. I would highly recommend this hostel on everything except for if you want to be closer to the city. It's about a 50 minute walk to the city which is far but you can use a bus during the day or a taxi during the day and night. I think this is the only part that's less nice since access to restaurants and shops is further away. This does however make it so it is very peaceful and almost no noise except for the main road to salento...

My stay in Posada Aguanile was amazing. It is located a bit far from Salento town but you can reach it by public bus. Nature around the house is very beautiful and all green. There’s also a river nearby, several coffee farms, waterfalls. Sandra and her family are very hospitable and lovely people. They make you feel home right away. They also serve excellent breakfast. At first I stayed in a private room and it was ok, also I had 2 more nights in a tent (they provided me everything I needed including tent, sleeping bag, mattress, pillows) and I loved it. Highly recommend 10/10
