Boki Mall de Experiencias//Hotel Mirador de Boquía//Terra Restaurante — Hotel in Quindío

While advertised as four restaurants, all of them actually share a menu and a kitchen, and I can only assume a single harried server walking at a very leisurely pace between the various levels, stopping by random tables with no discernible pattern. We recently visited Terra for dinner. We easily and quickly got a table, but for reasons which were never made clear had to share a single drink menu and single dinner menu amongst 8 of us.

We waited no less than 40 minutes for our drinks. One of our party ordered a ginger ale and it was only at this point - the better part of an hour after ordering - that we learned they did not have ginger ale. This is emblematic at how infrequently we saw any member of staff.

We went for dinner, managed to order a single appetizer for the table, and nothing else. We stated our intention to order main courses, but the server never returned to take our orders. To top off the experience, the bill was nonsensically high (over 600,000 COP). Six of us had three courses plus alcohol at another restaurant for less the following night.

This is a wonderful location to stop off on your way into Salento to sit and talk uninterrupted for literal hours with friends and family whilst taking in the views. If you were hoping to have food and drinks along with it, you’re better off bringing...

This review is only about the restaurant: Terra

After all the hype on social media about this cool new place outside Salento, we decided to start our weekend getaway by having lunch at this place.

The place looks awesome, the waiting staff is attentive and nice. But that's it.

We ordered a ribeye (100k COP) and the chicken schnitzel (chuleta). The menu said the ribeye steak was 400gr of meat. My wife ordered it medium well while I had the chicken. Unfortunately, neither was good. The chicken was cooked on the outside but RAW on the inside. The ribeye was ridiculously overcooked and it wasn't even close to 400 grams of meat, besides, the quality of the meat was obvious that it wasn't this kind of cut.

We ate the meat out of hunger and left the raw chicken for health reasons. We called the manager. He thanked us for the feedback and apologized for the inconvenience by offering us... dessert. That was his solution. That's it.

It's a shame that such a place with such an investment has such a poor kitchen service.

Una experiencia agradable con aspectos a mejorar

Tuve la oportunidad de alojarme en el Hotel Mirador de Boquía durante Año Nuevo, y en general, fue una experiencia positiva, aunque con algunos detalles que podrían mejorarse. Aquí están mis impresiones:

Lo positivo: El hotel destaca por su belleza y cuidado en cada detalle. Las instalaciones están muy bien mantenidas, con una mezcla encantadora de arquitectura tradicional y toques modernos que se complementan con una decoración llena de flores y plantas. La atmósfera es organizada y acogedora, y el mobiliario es de buen gusto.

El servicio fue otro punto alto de nuestra estadía. A pesar de ser una época festiva, el personal se mostró siempre atento y diligente, asegurándose de que los huéspedes tuvieran una buena experiencia.

En cuanto a la ubicación, es perfecta para quienes desean estar cerca de Salento pero lejos del bullicio del casco urbano. La posibilidad de disfrutar de un entorno tranquilo y, a la vez, estar a poca distancia del municipio, es una gran ventaja.

Además, notamos que están en proceso de ampliación con una obra en el primer piso que promete ser muy bonita. Esto indica un compromiso por parte del hotel de seguir mejorando.

Aspectos por mejorar: Uno de los puntos que más impactó nuestra experiencia fue el internet. La señal era lenta y débil, lo que puede ser un inconveniente significativo, especialmente en una zona con poca cobertura celular. Sería ideal que implementaran un sistema mesh para mejorar la conectividad y ofrecer una experiencia más fluida.

Otro detalle a considerar es la variedad en el desayuno. Aunque estaba bien preparado, el hecho de que fuera el mismo ambos días podría haberse mejorado con un poco de diversidad en las opciones.

En cuanto a las habitaciones, aunque bonitas, las encontramos demasiado pequeñas. Esto puede hacer que se sientan un poco confinadas, un factor a tener en cuenta al planificar la estancia.

El clima frío también fue un desafío. Una fuente de calor en las áreas comunes, especialmente por las noches, sería una excelente adición para mayor comodidad de los huéspedes, considerando que muchas familias viajan con niños o personas mayores.

Por último, el ruido fue el mayor inconveniente. Al estar cerca de una vía transitada, el sonido de los vehículos es constante y perturbador, particularmente en las habitaciones que dan hacia el exterior. Además, el ruido de otros huéspedes en la madrugada durante las festividades fue molesto. Implementar medidas más estrictas para controlar estos aspectos sería un gran paso hacia una mejor experiencia.

En resumen: El Hotel Mirador de Boquía tiene muchos puntos fuertes: su estética, el servicio y la ubicación son destacables. Sin embargo, aspectos como el internet, el tamaño de las habitaciones, la gestión del ruido y ciertos detalles de comodidad podrían ser mejorados.
