Hostel Nirvana San Gil — Hotel in San Gil

I came with one friend we stayed 3 nights and took a private room. Hostel has a great terrasse with small swimming pool you can use at all time, even after the sun is close which allowed us to swim every evening which we enjoyed a lot. there is an acess to the river with a small beach so with my friend we went there once and swimed in the river which was very fun. You can order beers soda salad pasta or hamburgers so not necessary to go in city to eat on evening (we tried the double and nirvana burgers which we both recommand). To go to city is quick (15 minutes walk). As city is noisy we felt very lucky to be outside but close to city. to finish the room had view on river and big bathroom so happy of it. Unfortunately there was a lot of small stuff that made our stay not the best. Maybe because it was Off season, but it seemed they didnt have a lot for example: Half of the food/drinks on the menue were not available -The food we ordered was not tasty, and it all arrived within 10 minutes, so just warmed up. (It's a good idea to have a 24/7 Kitchen, but I think its not necessary, rather normal times but better quality) -The rooms were super humid and with sticky air, was not the best to sleep. (The beds were comforatble) Maybe add a towel in the bathrooms for the floor, that was always wet from people showering. -Its quiet out of town. One of my favorite hostels! I love that it’s outside of town in a quiet location with access to the river. It’s just a short 10minute walk to the center of town & the mall and about 20 minutes to a bus terminal. If you’re getting the bus into town from Bucaramanga you can ask the driver to stop at the corner just after the bridge on the edge of town for a shorter walk. The staff are amazing here. They have excellent customer service and you instantly become friends. They can organize lots of activities for you. I did Hidrospeed (river boarding) with Assaf & paragliding in Curití.
