This hotel is amazing! The rooms are nice, the pool is great! The attached restaurant was fire every time I ate there. There is a awesome central pillar totally carved by a member of the Boruca, it's gorgeous! The chef, Luigi, was great to talk to. He was an excellent cook and everything that came out of the kitchen was perfect. He made sure to ask if everything was good and was very quick to make any accommodations. The owner, Tania, was so nice! Sitting and listening to the rain while eating was the perfect Costa Rica experience. Tania was super fun to talk to and always willing to help with any requests. Eating some good fish, drinking an Imperial, and listening to the rain really encapsulates the Pura Vida lifestyle that Costa Rica is known for. There are also Boruca masks and art carved from balsa wood for sale if you need souvenirs. Do yourself a favor and stop by, you won't regret it! Oh man, I almost forgot to mention the homemade ice cream! Out of this world. The mango was incredible. While I was there a gentleman who was staying at another nearby hotel came by 3 different nights, just to get ice cream to take back and eat with...
Read moreOur experience at the Hotel Bahía Azul's attached restaurant was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and kindness by the owner, Tania, who exuded genuine hospitality throughout our meals.
The food surpassed our expectations with each meal we indulged in. Fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared, we found ourselves returning for seconds, and even thirds, during our stay in Uvita. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, every dish was a delight to the senses, leaving us craving more.
The atmosphere of the attached boutique hotel perfectly complemented our dining experience. A charming ambiance combined with attentive service made our meals even more enjoyable. It felt like dining in a hidden gem, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Overall, all three of our meals were unforgettable, thanks to the kindness of Tania, the delectable food, and the inviting atmosphere. We left with full stomachs and hearts, already planning our return trip. Without a doubt, the restaurant at Hotel Bahía Azul will remain a highlight of our travels, and we can't wait to be...
Read moreAmong my some of my worse hotel experiences, for sure. Rooms were very dirty, dead bugs on the beds, brown water from shower faucet, previous tenants’ bathroom belongings left in rooms. The kicker, on top of the dirtiness, though, is the rodent infestation inside the walls - it’s lovely being kept awake by chittering and flapping? and fighting between rodents keeping you up all night. The proprietor dismissed that complaint as “those aren’t mice, they’re bats!” 😆 I guess that’s better? 2 stars instead of 1 because the proprietors were not unkind and did try to accommodate dietary restrictions - though they did take over an hour to prepare our party’s food and gave seemingly less food than advertised. Oh and the dining room smelled like urine (which might be due to the decidedly adorable and funny dog birthday party that was happening…in the dining room). We ended up not staying for our second paid day and booked another room. I’d recommend that this establishment takes a little bit more pride in their business, and maybe sweeps the live wasps nests out of the...
