Hotel Marino Lodge CR — Hotel in Bahía Ballena

2-star hotel at a 4-star price. We paid around $87.50 per week night. The pictures showing this hotel are misleading since they were very well positioned and they don't show the many faults the hotel has. The main entrance has a fence gate, yet the hotel is well-located with no need to rent a car. Our room had a couple worms and one roach; No biggie since it is expected in this area. In the bathroom there was only one single faucet yet the water was lukewarm and good enough to take a shower. In the morning you can expect breakfast 6:30 to 9 a.m. The staff is very helpful...

This was a very pleasant surprise to find this place. Large pool with clean water. Easy walk to 2 supermarkets. Close to the national park. The free breakfast was a bonus. Strong internet plus ABC CBS FOX regular TV from Miami. Staff was very pleasant. Nice plants and shaded sitting around the pool. It was a little hard to find. They should update the signage. Great budget hotel for short or long term stay! There are two bedroom apartments on the bottom floor with a kitchenette and the upstairs studios have a shared outdoor kitchen. It's not luxury, but safe, clean, cozy and fantastically located in walking out short bike distance to lots of local spots including the Bahia Ballena park/beach, a few mini supers (small grocery store), two local farmers markets and lots of restaurants, and tour companies....
