Flor de Paraiso Bungalows — Hotel in Cóbano

Flor de Paraiso was the perfect relaxing oasis for our 21 night stay in Costa Rica. The kitchen was incredibly well equipped, we loved the sliding windows for indoor/outdoor living, and the (incredibly well maintained) pool was great to cool off in and hangout by.

The location is superb as well, as the walk to Montezuma Beach is only about 15min. We’ve seen both spider and capuchin monkeys regularly on the walk!

Additionally Flor de Paraiso is just a 50ft walk from the local bus stop, we had no issues getting wherever we needed to be on the peninsula without a car! (5min to Montezuma, 10min to Cobano, etc.)

Gerardo and his family were so welcoming and helpful with any questions or needs. A highlight of our stay was sharing a test meal with Gerardo and Iliana as they were preparing for the opening of the new restaurant on site!

Future guests will be super lucky to feast on their local preparation of chicken/plantain/fresh tortilla (10/10) and Italian style wood oven pizzas.

We spent a wonderful 5 weeks with Gerardo and Iliana in Casa el Arbul and would absolutely stay again!

This quiet oasis is nicely located just up the hill from Montezuma, a short 1.5km walk, it's on the bus route to/from Cobano so you don't need a car, and a well known bus stop is right nearby making it super easy!

We also had a lot of luck hitchhiking to/from here and learned a lot about the area from speaking with the locals who picked us up!

The pool is so nice to be able to take a dip in in the heat of the day or before bed, and the air conditioning in the bedrooms worked perfectly.

The kitchen is big and we'll equipped, and the Howler monkeys even came by for a few visits.
