is not the most luxurious place you can know but for what you are paying you can´t expect anything else, ||although it´s something basic||they took the time to do something nice, for example, my friend went from room to room checking that each room had towels with different decoration, ||that was impressive and that detail is well appreciated,||sheets were clean and the floor,||Mrs. Patricia, i think she´s the manager, very nice person, we didn´t ask for any info about tours so||no idea if she knows something about it, but i saw a table with lots of flyers,||||if you like to cook there is a small kitchen, you better buy your own things to cook like oil, I didn´t see much there to use, some places they have a section of "things other travelers left so you can use".. ||we didn't cook but that is what I saw there, oh,we only made coffee and we had to buy our own grounded coffee, so...||you also have some tables and seats..||||quiet place to relax, at least for us, our room with private bathroom facing the sea,||it was perfect,||specially if you have a couple of hammocks there, you can't complain about anything, ||well, i do, in some parts of the room there were bloodstains i suppose mosquitos, ||besides that, all good.||oh and tthe dog, i forgot his name, what a lovely and smart puppy.||||we...
Read moreThis was such a lovely place to stay during our travels. The rooms were simple and quite sandy but that is to be expected when staying in a beach village! Communal cooking facilities available 6am-9pm which proved useful for cooking some budget meals and also storing beers in the fridge! Lovely little hammocks for relaxing and reading.||||It's a stones throw from the beach but do be warned that you are advised not to swim in Tortuguero due to rip tides and sharks. Didn't stop us.... probably quite foolish!||||Things to note:||- Wifi only works at the front of the hostel close to reception/near some hammocks so lots of people congregate around there which is good for meeting people||- Showers are cold (didn't bother me, I love cold showers in hot weather)||- Staff don't speak English so make sure you brush up on your Spanish before you get there!||- A guide will take you from the boat to Meriscar so you don't need to worry about trying to find it (guide speaks English usually so if you don't speak any spanish...
Read moreyour average low quality run down hostel. feels a little icky and a little grimy whatever you do or touch. there's a communal kitchen that they supposedly charge you for but they don't seem to. wifi is pretty decent around the kitchen and reception area. hammocks are available for relaxing (2 in the front and 3 in the back) where we spent most of the time when it rains. location is pretty good and easy to find once you know where it is. the staff are friendly and there is always a dog or a cat passing by. it's not the best bang for the buck but I guess it's the average price around here. really appreciated the fan, it helped a lot with the humidity. careful of mosquitos. close by to the beach but waters are too rough to swim. you can pick up some food and groceries and leave them in the...
