Hotel Villa Los Candiles — Hotel in Santa Ana

Terrible hotel experience. We booked 4 nights in Jr Suite with a King bed and upon check in were given a room with 2 double beds. The front desk manager said our room was unavailable. (How is that possible when there is only 1 other guest in the entire hotel?). We told the front desk manager we would stay 1 night but have to cancel the other 3 nights and find another hotel. Evidently at that point he charged our credit card for all 4 nights. Our room had ants all over the kitchen area, rock hard beds and only 2 bath towels which were worn through and shouldn't be used in a car repair shop as a rag. When we checked out the next morning the front desk manager told us the owner of the hotel refused to cancel the other 3 nights and had charged us already. He said the policy requires 72 hour to change or cancel. I explained they did not and would not provide the room we paid for so there is no contract but the owner didn't care. Maybe other people who wrote positive reviews enjoyed their stay but I would never recommend staying at a hotel run like this. There are far better hotels for the same price...

Don’t stay here, the cleaning crew went through my stuff and stole my necklace that was in a zipped jewelry box! We were a group of med students doing humanitarian work and we stayed a week. One night the others girls room someone was knocking in the middle of the night and they were using flashlights to look into their room through the bathroom window. Then they stole one of the girls bracelets that she left in her purse that she had just bought the day before at the farmers market. When we told the staff they said no we had misplaced it that nothing ever goes missing there. Most likely it is not noticed because they take small items. Don’t stay here its not safe if your a women and they steal.

Booked 4 night stay for our family of 3 in Jr suite with king bed. Arrived and was given a room with 2 double beds, was told the room we reserved wasn't available. I later learned there was only 1 other room occupied so an unavailable room is a mystery. We told him we would stay 1 night and cancel the other 3 nights. Unknown to me at the time, they charged us for all 4 nights at that point. When we checked out the next morning, the front desk manager told us the owner refused to refund the 3 nights. He sincerely apologized for the owners decision. Although they state on their reservation 72 hour notice required for chamge or cancellation of the reservation, they did not fulfill their obligations of the reservation agreement and no professionally managed hotel would act this way. We had ants in the room, 2 bath towels that were so worn a car wash would throw them away and the toilet ran water all night. There are far better hotels...
