Andiamo Là San José — Restaurant in Santa Ana

Overpriced, extremely average food. Do not go!

The restaurant itself is nice and appealing when you walk by. Unfortunately, it is crazily overpriced for what is has to offer! I do not mind paying good money for a good foos experience, but here we paid 48 000 colones (around 80$!) for two glasses of wine and two pasta dishes. That’s it. Really unacceptable. They don’t even serve you bread, how on earth! The Chardonay felt like a cheap supermarket wine (and had a sort of funny smell), and the pasta was extremely oily (my raviolis were literally dripping in a soup of oil). The service was inconsistent: while our main waiter was an absolute gem, very nice and easy going, another waiter got annoyed by me asking for parmesan (which should be automatically offered by the way).

Please do not spend your money here. There’s thousand better places in San Jose to spend a good time...

The staff, the ambience, the food, all was excellent and pricing makes it a real value. Probably one of the very best Italian Restaurants in Costa Rica I've been to. However, 1 star missing, 4 5minutes after ordering our party of 8 had still not recieved our antipastos/appetizers. No word or comment or request for refills from an otherwise attentive staff. Oil and vinegar for bread was on th he table but after the appetizers arrived we asked and begrudgingly recieved two small plates of cold sliced bread enough for maybe three of us. Food overall was fantastic. Bar tender also needs to understand wearing his mask below his nose and fiddling with it the whole time was a bit unnerving for some as he was in plane view of dozens. Will go back definitely but hope they read this...

We arrived pretty late on Saturday at 10:15 pm celebrating my sister in laws birthday. James was our server. The food was brought out promptly, cocktails and wine recommendations were great. The good was fresh and delicious! We had such a great time. The restaurant was beautiful, unfortunately we didn't get to see the whole place from the outside view because it was already dark. James did an amazing job, he was so professional, knowledgeable, super kind and what a great personality. He added to the whole very positive experience. Andiamo la is now one of our favorite restaurants to visit when we return to Costa Rica. Thank you James and your awesome team for an exceptional experience...
