(Stayed during a Colette tour in October 2024). One word:SKIP-IT! I had a pretty horrible experience and will not be returning. For a 5star hotel I had a 1star experience. Most of my issues stems from the hotel controlling the temperature of the room, not you. After being in the warm sun for the day I was looking forward to relaxing in my room. I was assigned an interior bottom floor room and the temp when I entered was set to 24 (75.2) which made it as warm outside. Having to go downstairs to ask about the temp I was informed they control it and the towel warmer, not you. I requested the room to be cool as it was extremely stifling and uncomfortable. I returned to my room and waited for it to cool off however shortly thereafter extremely loud piercing sound was heard. So extreme actually forced me into the hallway. When I went downstairs to inquire about the loud piercing sound they were very well aware of it and said they would have just so that it didn't make the sound but would still cool off the room but we're aware of the sound. After a while the sound returned I went back downstairs yet again and they said they would adjust it to cool the room for a couple of hours and not make the sound. The room reached a comfortable lower temperature after a few hours, which I much appreciated. However at some point in the middle of the night the temperature return to 24° and I awoke around 5:00 a.m. to a stifling warm room again because they have the heat running. Because the room temperature was so high I was unable to go back to sleep and attempted to reach out to request that they please cool the room so that I could return to sleep. Yet again the buzzing started immediately I called down and asked if they could please stop the sound and was informed I would either have to deal with the piercing sound or I would have to deal with a warm room. Reception was extremely less accommodating and friendly at 6:00 a.m. The sound was too piercing to deal with and stay in their room at the same time so I elected for a warm room. Ultimately forced to open window to cool down room which put me on high alert! it didn't make for a relaxing or comfortable room. Windows looked onto the breakfast area and we're not frosted but clear glass into the bathroom with no curtain. The room and bathroom were clean, floors were dated but the bed itself was comfortable enough. The amenities were equivalent to previous 3/4 star hotels we've stayed. They do supply body/shampoo and separate conditioner but not a separate shampoo and no lotion. The water pressure was strong but temperature was very inconsistent. Shower stall was large but did not provide any type of ledge for leg shaving. Power outlet next to the bed did not work but other two did. Mini bar fully stocked with a lot of options, but overpriced for the area. Small grocery store is roughly less than 1 minute walking distance. Breakfast options were limited in variety. They did provide sparkling wine for mimosas. The most redeeming quality of the hotel is the spa. I booked two different spa sessions during my stay and they were excellent. Prices are very comparable to what you can find in the area. Definitely worth it even if you don't stay at this hotel. For my floor - housekeeping kept their supply carts in the hallways which made it look trashy. Surely in a large five-star hotel they could find some place to store these cards other than in the hallway. Another thing to note, I was assigned the lowest number floor and I was not comfortable opening the window and leaving it open to cool the room, where someone could potentially access my room and my room face a number of windows. As a solo traveling female I am surprised a hotel would place a solo female on such a low floor. Hotel is located on a good area and on walking to a number of shops, restaurants and accessible to downtown area. The passing rail cars could be heard and affected the noise level in the interior rooms with a low but noticeable rumbling sound. I can only imagine the sound in an exterior room.

My (now) husband and I wanted a nice hotel for our first wedding night, and in the end we decided for me to stay there the night before as well. The hotel is in a great location, nice design and at first we thought the service would be excellent as well (before booking we went to check it out and were served by Matko who is so kind and nice!). Unfortunately, it did not turn out to be quite like that. Matko and Mia were excellent, as well as another gentleman at the front desk. Everyone else…not even close. Definitely did not turn out to be what I expected, and would not call this a 5* hotel. On my wedding day I asked to have the room cleaned 8:30-9 am and planned to be at breakfast at that time. I was shocked to discover that the room was not cleaned, but even more once it “was” done the quality was just not at the expected level. We were getting ready in the room so I got coffees for the 4 of us and after quite some wait time I called to ask about it and got a very rude and dismissive answer “it’s going to come now”. No apologies. We had two additional room services and neither were good. I was looking for some basic stuff that you would expect in a hotel room, and especially a 5* and did not find it: a shower gel (?!), a dirty clothes bag, etc. Some furniture looks old and not in the best shape (and as far as I know it’s not an old hotel), the window blind was broken. What shocked me the most is the quality of my mattress. It was so bad. Definitely the opposite of a 5*. The hotel knew it was our wedding. They didn’t do anything to make our day special. Overall I am disappointed. Glad we were able to make the most of it but not sure I would have chosen this if I had this knowledge before booking.

A lovely hotel in an excellent location that is convenient for the most attractive part of Zagreb (the part with Austro-Hungarian architecture). Upon arrival at the hotel, I was warmly welcomed by a very helpful receptionist. I immediately warmed to the place such was her warm, friendly welcome. All of her colleagues in the reception were also very helpful and friendly. One of the reasons why I give this hotel a full 5/5! The room was clean and spacious, and the lighting level was excellent, with a good desk area with easily accessible power points. The décor is a little dated, but still good enough. Although I could hear the tram from time to time, it was not very noisy and it did not become at all bothersome. Overall, the room was in fact very quiet. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in, so I had a very restful night's sleep. The bathroom was also spacious, although lighting could be improved a little so that it is easier to see what I am doing with make-up etc. The water pressure and temperature stability in the shower was all good, so I have no real complaint. The breakfast (buffet) included all the usual hot and cold breakfast items, and fresh orange juice as well.
