Fenice Palace is a bijou hotel in the old part of Sibenik, a truly wonderful medieval town with cobbled streets and narrow walkways abundant with restaurants. It has been decorated and furnished to an extremely high standard. Everything has been thought out well from the practical to the decorative. The accommodation provided us with a bedroom having its own TV and a separate sitting room again with a TV, sofa, chair and small area to make tea/coffee/breakfast/sandwiches etc. The bed is very very comfortable, the bedding soft and the shutters to the windows ensure a good nights sleep by keeping out any noise and light. It is though in a quiet street and we were never disturbed either during the night or when relaxing in the day. The bathroom has a great shower and towels are changed on a regular basis as we were there for 11 nights. Josip was the perfect host very helpful in answering all our queries and often gave us little treats during our stay, delicious sundaes, fruit and on leaving a little gift for the grandchildren. The lady who cleaned our room was delightful (I am sorry but I do not know her name). She always cleaned to a very high standard and spoke good English as did Josip. We are a retired couple and would have no hesitation in recommending Fenice Palace for either a short or long stay. It is also excellent as a base to venture out to other places around such as the Krka National Park, Trogir, the few islands close to Sibenik (by ferry) and to Vodice, a small town just a few miles north of Sibenik. Thank you Josip for making our holiday to Croatia a very happy and memorable one. Regards...
Read morePositives: ||- first and foremost, the biggest positive is the hotel owner Josip, a wonderful person that will go a long way to help you in anything you might need. He will jump into your car with you in order to show you parking spots, explain everything about the city etc., if everyone had the same attitude towards their guests, it would tremendously help the tourism industry.||- location is perfect, right in the old town. Besides that, the building and rooms are really nice, with great attention to every detail. All is spotlessly clean and, to my surprise, even though you might expect some noise in such a location, the rooms are quiet, I had no problems sleeping.||||Negatives:||- well, you are in the pedestrian zone, so be aware that you cannot park your car right next to the building. It is not a negative per se, if you choose such a location, it is always like this. Basically you have two options - paid street parking (very close, across the main street) or free parking (10-15 minutes walking). ||- no breakfast, but there is bakery right around the corner.||||To sum it up, this place certainly has its character and I can warmly recommend it. If you are already there, go for lunch to nearby Marenda, where you can get tasty home-cooked meals for more than...
Read moreJosip is a class act. Communication was superb, we alerted him to our time of arrival and he waited for us at the street, quickly helped us unload our luggage and hopped in the car with my husband to show him to the closest public parking. Fenice Palace is in a pedestrian zone, but close enough to the main road that you don't have to lug your bags very far--only a few steps. Josip has it all down to a science, and the check-in and check-out was fast and easy. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the details will astound you, and every amenity you could need is provided. The beds are so comfy and the AC was very much appreciated! The old town of Sibenik is literally at your doorstep and Josip's wife provided us with a couple of great restaurant recommendations. We loved Tomaseo! Thank you! A lovely couple running a high-end Inn. Great value. I highly recommend...
