Because there are so many pros here, I'll list the only few minor cons I can think of, for a more balanced review...||cons-||When trying to checkin had to walk through the Pizzeria and into the kitchen doorway to find a member of staff to check that the hostel was here, as there were no signs or anything! They then called one of the owners to come. Checkin times on the board upstairs are very short but I guess this ties in with bus and boat arrivals as most guests would come using public transportation. Not a party hostel (this should be a pro aswell!)||some inroom furniture has seen better days!||||pros- ||stunning location, right by the cathedral/church. Korcula island is also a stunning place if you like to explore on your own via hiking, kayak, cycling etc etc||Korcula town is probably the most beautiful fortified old town I have ever visited anywhere.Yet they also have a great hypermarket on the edge of town that was not much more expensive than Split= very good given location.||The hostel is approx 5 minutes walk from the ferry point, directly above their pizzeria.||The owners are a nice and professional couple, and when I stayed a 3 bed dorm was approx 18 euro a night(good for Croatia). The ensuite bathroom was excellent , large and clean with towels, and toiletries. The rooms are aircon and they also had a dry rack for clothes which was really useful, aswell as cupboards etc and working lockers for each bed. The view through the shutters of the church were great, and if you just want a good place to sleep with good clean comfortable single beds(no bunks) and good bathroom with no queuing, in a great location then this place is impossible to beat.Good for all ages young and old.Great for people who like the great outdoors, and old towns. Great Wifi, great quality sleep, large 3 bed dorm aswell. ||Not for party animals... go to Dubrovnik and don't ruin...
Read moreWhilst the hostel had looked great through the booking platform, it turned out to be something of a disappointment when we arrived. Positives: near to the ferry port, close to bars and restaurants and a short walk to the old town. |Less pleasing was the fact that when we turned up they had booked each of us into different dorms even though we had booked together. I suppose we should have checked to confirm but this had never happened to any of us before.. the rooms were a mixed bag. My room was quiet and had excellent AC whereas someone else in our party had a room at the front of the hostel with one small fan between 6 people and a lot of noise coming from the bars in the street until the early hours. This was a vast different considering we paid the same price. The rooms were also very noisy with people hanging out and drinking. Don't get me wrong, I love to party and this is one of the reasons that we often stay in hostels, but when I go to bed it means I want to sleep. I know the hostel cannot be blamed for inconsiderate guests but the fact that there are no communal areas sort of makes this an inevitability.|In short, good location, AMAZING island but I wouldn't...
Read moreThe place is very small, only two bathrooms for the whole place (at the end of the day they were plain disgusting), the rooms are dirty and without AC. I shared the room with some piglets (they even had food con the floor) and when I complained they told me they couldnt do anything, my pillow smelled like sweat and they didnt bother to change it even when I asked. The front desk girl seemed to be forced to work there during summer and she was cranky and not helpful at all. Some lockers were without key and they just said live with it. The only perk of this place is the location and the restaurant downstairs with very...
