Would be very hard to find a lot of fault with this hotel however, this is a review based on our stay.||We booked with Jet2 and to be honest, I probably should have done a bit more homework. On arrival, we were allocated a basic room which is exactly what we paid for. When we went to the room I was very unhappy with it. It was on the first floor had no balcony and was above the smoking and café area. ||Went straight down to reception and asked if there was any possibility of a move only to be told that that is what a basic room offers no balcony and no guaranteed allocation for a sea view. I explained that I wasn’t particularly bothered about sea view but we were staying 11 nights and therefore really needed a balcony. Was told that the hotel was completely full and there would be very little chance of another room, but by the time we got back up to the first floor, the phone rang and they had found a room with a balcony at a cost of €165 euros.||We agreed to the additional cost, and were very grateful to Anna on reception who sorted this out for us. ||The hotel is not a four star but a very good three star. It’s rated as a four star because it has spa facilities. I would say it’s like a good Premier Inn.||The hotel is spotless clean, and we had fresh towels daily and clean bedding throughout the duration of our 11 night stay.||Only negative with our upgraded room was the shower was over the bath and I would have preferred a walk in shower. The bath was quite small and difficult to climb into if you are short like me. Luckily, there was a grab rail.||This is definitely a stopover hotel and perfect for a short stay. It has a lot of tour bus trips that stay one or two nights.||Breakfast was excellent, something for everyone. On busy days when the coaches are in the food goes quickly but it’s replenished just as quickly.||We also ate there on an evening a few times and it is buffet style. Something for everyone.||The hotel has no pool but does have a bathing area on the 5th floor with comfy sun beds and a jacuzzi. We used this area when the weather was good rather than the beach to the left of the hotel. | Beach area is not great it is a mixture of small stones, grass and paved areas. ||Omis is a beautiful little town and the hotel is a stones throw away from the old town area where there are plenty of restaurants. There are boat trips and other activities depending on how active you are.||It is also approximately 12 miles outside Split but it is so easy to get into on the bus that stops just a little up the road from the hotel. ||I would stay here again, but only if I was doing a short trip and passing through, and I would also...
Read moreCannot fault this hotel ,rooms cleaned everyday, towels changed everyday .Comfy bed I had had sciatica 2 weeks before we came and was in pain on the plane but had the most comfiest sleep in ages .We booked just a standard room with Jet 2 no balcony but we knew that ,Even though we was street side wasn't affected by noise only the church bells .The hotel doesn't have a pool but a hot tub on the roof with sunbeds ,whilst we was there hardly anyone used them some days it was just us like having our own hot tub with a stunning view of the Mirabelle fortress. They isn't alot of shade on the roof so maybe why .The food was lovely plenty of choice .The hotel is literally 3mins to the beach and 5 mins to the old town Omis is amazing .It was out 5ht time to Croatia the first to this area .last time 8 years ago to Porec .We had heard how expensive Croatia had become and it had put us off yet we found it so much cheaper than UK .drinks at the bars was working out at 7 Euro for large beer wine and a sprite cocktails 8 euro .We loved the two bars in the square Bigulin and Kapetan to sit and people watch .They only take cash though We also had the last few drinks at Del Mare on the beach 2 mins from Hotel watched the sea and the local families on the beach ,Omis also has a river I would recommend a boat trip down the River Certina to see the Canyon 20 euro or you can hire your own boat and drive down,If you are adventurous Zip wire and white water rafting. We did two boat trips with the yellow boat Tornado both to Brac ,First 2 half hours to Bol was long and not much in Bol think most people go for the beach but it isn't much as all pebbles. Loved the 2nd trip to Brac where it was only one hour where we went to Pusisca for 2 hours and then short ride to Postira loved these .You can catch a bus to Split for 4 Euros each took 40 mins there but tip don't come back at 4 as it took 2 half hours the traffic out of Split is horrendous .Its a no 60 bus they is a big bus goes longer way ,also an...
Read moreThe Hotel Plaza Duce is a large, welcoming place with helpful and professional staff who are on hand at all times. I stayed here for seven nights with my fiance, and fully recommend it! The food is lovely and varied, and is served in quite generous portions!||Anna and Jelena on Reception are very helpful and accommodating, and are ready to help with matters like hotel queries and transport- and tourism-related issues. Danijel the waiter is meanwhile good, genial fun with his cheerful service and his introduction of Croatian “Nutella”-like ice cream much to our delight.||There is also the Wellness Center to mention…! Petra the masseuse is very thorough and professional in her work, and her 75-minute full sports massage is definitely recommended! The indoor swimming pool is good, if quite small. The only hiccup here is that only the ladies’ changing room has any lockable lockers…||The rooms, meanwhile, are luxurious with all the facilities you would need, including double-glazing windows, external blinds for reducing sun glare, and electronically-drawn curtains that offer a complete blackout at night.||As for the wider area, Split is an exciting (if popular and quite noisy!) city to visit (you can get there from the hotel via the No 60 bus, using the Promet app - ask the Receptionists for details), with Diocletian’s Palace and the dockside promenades being key highlights. Omis, though smaller, is arguably more inviting, with key highlights including a boat trip on the Cetina river (usually 10-20 Euro per person) and a (steep!) climb up to the Mirabela fortress up the cliff face (well worth the 3-Euro entry fee!). ||Overall, if you fancy a classy stay in unspoilt, beautiful surroundings, the Hotel Plaza Duce is the...
