Hotel Lungomare Opatija — Hotel in Grad Opatija

Renovated hotel just by the sea, nice interior design, no parkng available,just on the street or in near garage Slatina. I just would recommend to change windows in all rooms which are very old and have no isolation of outter noise. The staff is nice. Breakfast are ok, but no fresh vegetable e.g. tomatoes or paprika and the variety of sweets is poor and looks no home made (what about pancakes?). Dinners we had in hotel Kristal,because during our stay the hotel did not serve dinners due to the lack of guests which was a pity,because our hotel has better reviews for food quality than Kristal ( that's why we choosed this hotel,so we were dissapointed) and it was a true. Hotel Kristal has average food, some of the dishes not home made and it is much worse looking hotel than Lungomare (retro style). As a guest of hotel Lungomare you can use the swimming pool and small gym for free in hotel Kristal.

After 8 months we came back for 3 nights. Everything is the same. Dinners again in ugly hotel Kristal. Breakfast needs to be more rich,quite poor ( sweets almost nothing except croissants).The chef is still lazy to do simple thing as pancakes are. Is it so difficult? And new experience from our 2nd stay. Do not ask for room at 5th floor ( sea view). You will hear everything what your neighbors from 4th floor are doing as it was in your room ( talking,snooring,sneezing, watching TV ....). Hotel Lungomare exceeded all expectations. The location is perfect—right on the Lungomare promenade and close to the city center. A nice hotel near the sea side and starting point for tours on 🚢.

Generally the hotel decoration is good, it doesn't have a swimming pool, but the hotel next to it 'krystal' has one (with salty 🌊), the reception told us we could use it, but then the guy at the pool told us they don't accept anymore, so it's not clear. Anyway as it is salty water it doesn't have much interest compared to going in salty sea water then, apart from the shower of course.

The hotel beds are firm, but ok. The room we had was large with a terrace, so it was good for a small family with one kid (we had an extra bed for our daughter)
