Nine Olives Hvar - Exceptional Holiday Villa — Hotel in Grad Stari Grad

David's house is so delightfully relaxing and stylish, we really didn't want to go home. There are so many things to love!

The house itself has been very thoughtfully designed. The shared spaces, like the lounge, kitchen and outdoor terraces are designed perfectly to allow people to gather, relax, eat, drink and watch the sun go down. The lounge in particular is a wonderful view point, with huge windows which can open fully to let in the sea breezes. It's one of the loveliest social spaces we have seen!

The bedrooms meanwhile provide a comfortable, quiet and spacious environment for a great night's sleep.

The pool is heated (if heating is needed) and is big enough for a proper swim, which is a bonus.

From the house, its just a couple of minute's walk down to the sea and a big, safe swimming area, perfect for a morning swim. There is also a beach bar right next to it, but sadly this had just closed for the season by the time we were there.

The walk into Stari Grad town, with lots of restaurants and bars, takes about 10 or 15 minutes and follows a lovely traffic free path alongside the water.

As a young travel company (aēsplore) curating experiences around design, art, and architecture, Nine Olives was the perfect accommodation for us. The architecture of the house is striking, every design lover will instantly fall in love with its clean lines, thoughtful details, and the seamless blend of beauty and practicality.

The location couldn't be better: just steps from the sea and nestled in what we believe is the most charming village on Hvar Island, Stari Grad. It offered us the perfect balance of tranquillity, authenticity, and easy access to the island’s highlights.

David, our host, was absolutely wonderful – warm, responsive, and genuinely caring.

We booked the house for a small group of five individuals, not all of whom knew each other beforehand, and it turned out to be the ideal place to share space while still enjoying privacy. The layout of the house gave everyone the room to rest, recharge, and also come together for delicious local BBQs, long conversations, and beautiful moments of connection.

We have just spent a wonderful holiday at Nine Olives with family and friends. The house is well located between the ferry port and town and close to a lovely swimming area where we enjoyed a regular morning swim in beautifully clear water. It is a very pleasant walk into town along the sea front, which is even better if you catch the sunset on the way to dinner. However some of the best views are really from the Nine Olives patios and lounge. From those you can watch the ever changing scenery and the most stunning sunsets. We found the house very comfortable and well equipped. It's clean lines and amazing local art provide a perfect home base. It was ideally suited to managing a large group such as ours with it's many entertainment areas and cooking facilities. The pool is fabulous neing lightly heated. There is much to explore in the area (there is a lot of info in the house folder) but it was also so nice to take time to just relax and enjoy the space.
