Could be a nice place. But for 4,-€ entrance per person there is really not much to see in this place. After entering it is a promising start with the pond. Than there are some dusted utilities and vine presses followed by a small kind of neglect garden. What a missed opportunity especially if you see how big the property really ist - the real garden is like 10 times bigger and it would have been great to have a kind of medival garden there maybe with a small coffee shop. Right now you enter make a few photos of the pond and than by seeing the garden you start wondering for what you paid 4,-€. At least for Instagrammer this is a good place for photos- but there are plenty of those places in Croatia. Please do more for your great heritage that...

This historic gem in Stari Grad might appear closed at first, but fear not! A quick message to the number on the door, and the fortress magically unlocks within minutes (ours opened in just 5!). The €4 entrance fee is a small price to pay for such a unique experience.

Prepare to be transported as you wander through the meticulously maintained gardens. Here, you'll find a haven of lush greenery, boasting plant varieties that haven't changed since the time of Petar Hektorovic himself. The centerpiece is the captivating pond, adding a touch of tranquility to the historic atmosphere.

Whether you're a history buff or simply enjoy beautiful gardens, the Fortress of Petar Hektorovic is...

The poet was actively building it throughout his lifetime, almost obsessively, guided by an idea of the microcosm – a small, closed world in which divine creatures fish, birds, plants and humans could find a place to coexist. Tvrdalj is also a stone book since more than twenty inscriptions in Latin, Italian and Croatian are carved...
