Niko is a wonderful place to stay. first of all, because of their staff. They were very helpful and professional, and at the same time friendly and approachable. It is rare to experience such a genuine hospitality. We visited Zadar to celebrate a birthday and a 10th anniversary, and Niko's manager suggested that we make the dinner and party in their suite, on a large balcony facing the bay.We agreed, and while we were taking a swim on a beach across the road they set up the tables and prepared everything for the party. The food served was fresh, prepared with care and delicious, accompanied with a great choice of wines, both red and white. We enjoyed it even more watching the sea changing colours in sunset. It really was an amazing experience. But this wasn't the end, when it got dark it was the time for the cake and when they brought it in, the owner cam with his friends and a guitar to sing to us. We sang, eat and drank, and since this was a double celebration another cake was brought in but this time accompanied with a spectacular fireworks show on the beach. I have to say the staff and the owner really outdid themselves and did everything to make us feel really special on that day, and that it was the best celebration I have ever witnessed. Looking forward to our next visit.

€€€ Delicious fresh fish, very friendly and professional staff. Nice menu and wine. Almost five stars but unfortunately it smoky from the cigarette area. As I hate that it was a no go in my opinion at a fancy hotel and restaurant. They should really separate both areas making sure that all guests are happy...

I loved this restaurant - the best seafood I've had in all of Croatia! The atmosphere was very fancy, everything was spotless, and all the food was very fresh. The staff spoke English very well so communication wasn't an issue. I definitely recommend trying this restaurant, I felt right at home.

This family-run hotel wins you over as the days go by, until you realize that you couldn't have made a better choice, for your stay in Zadar... We were guests for three nights at this property, which, in terms of cleanliness, attention to detail and in-room amenities, is unparalleled. Nina (the owner) will go out of her way, with all the rest of the staff, to give you assistance and help, from beach chairs and towels to excursions, not to mention dinner in the hotel restaurant, which we came to thanks to a rave review in the Lonely Planet guide. In short, we cannot thank everyone enough, who made us feel better than at home. However, we would like to make a few suggestions to improve, as much as possible, the quality of the stay of future guests (both I and my partner were involved in hotel accommodation). The area located in front of the hotel is currently occupied by a parking lot, which does not improve the approach to the hotel; it would be nice if that area could be transformed into a green open-air reception space by moving the parking lot elsewhere (with a valeting system, asking for a contribution from the clientele, of course); also looking forward, the carpeting in the rooms could gradually give way to less problematic flooring for people with asthma or similar problems, such as laminated parquet or natural stone; and the elevator could be at least partially replaced with an exposed freight elevator, in the stairwell (but don't worry about your luggage, the staff will have it for you in your room without you having to deal with it on the stairs). Suggestions for improving an offering that, however, is already...

1 to 5 stars is truly not sufficient to describe the worth and the value of the Hotel and (especially) the Restaurant Niko. If those Emirati invented 7 stars for their Burj Al Arab, by themselves, this place deserves at least 50 stars gained from their thankful, grateful, always pleased, satisfied and happy customers. Because it is what they always aimed to do the best - from the moment you walk in for the first time, their goal is to make you feel welcomed, accepted and happy in their HOME. They religiously keep to the OLD GOOD STANDARDS of excellency and professionalism in everything they do, while still being authentic, domestic and outmost friendly. It's a family run business with a genuine soul for 60 years. They work extremely hard, everyone is included, they sacrifice their own life for the benefit of their guests. Because their guests are treated even better than their own family. They kept developing and perfecting from day to day, while still keeping the true essence what they are. Like a Porsche or a Rolls Royce. I have travelled the world. Hotels and restaurants became my natural place to live. After seeing so much of "hospitality world", I can honestly say - these guys are in THE BEST league. True RESPECT to family Pavin and all their hardworking, devoted and reliable staff. In forever lower standards and crisis in hospitality industry, the places like this one should truly be respected and protected as a heritage and unique public institutions! All...
