I stayed at Hotel Lumbarda and sadly, it was a very disappointing experience.
The room was far from what you'd expect for €170 per night. The bedding was dirty and stained, the pillows and duvet were old and worn, and the mattresses felt unhygienic. The bathroom had an unpleasant smell throughout the stay. Towels were a complete disaster – rough like sandpaper, visibly dirty, and clearly long overdue for replacement. I was honestly shocked they were offered to guests.
The furniture on the balcony was broken and outdated, and the room itself lacked any charm or proper design. The beds were simply two singles pushed together, which wasn’t ideal and made sleeping rather uncomfortable.
Breakfast was okay – nothing special, but not terrible either.
There was also no elevator in the hotel, which can be inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage or mobility issues – definitely something to be aware of.
Parking was another issue – there aren’t enough spots for all guests, so if you’re lucky, you’ll find one; if not, too bad. And to make matters worse, it costs €7 per day, which feels excessive considering the already high price of the stay.
Also worth mentioning – there was only one proper power outlet in the whole room, and the phone charging sockets were placed awkwardly high on the wall. If your cable’s short, your phone just hangs mid-air – very poorly designed. In the bathroom, there was only one socket as well, and it was literally coming out of the wall – loose and unstable, which felt unsafe and unprofessional.
Now, to be fair – a few positives. The view from our room was truly beautiful, and the location itself is excellent: close to the marina, restaurants, and within walking distance to the beach. The air conditioning worked well, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay.
But overall, the hotel desperately needs investment – fresh bedding, new mattresses, decent towels, updated furniture, and a proper room layout. What you see in the photos online does not match reality. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Definitely not...
Read moreOur family of five spent a wonderful 15 days at the Lumbarda Hotel. The hotel has a 3-star rating, but offers the service of a higher category hotel. The location is in the very center of Lumbarda, close to beaches, cafes, restaurants and shops. The rooms are spacious, classically furnished, the beds are comfortable (We were accommodated in a family room with a sea view). Towels were changed often, as were the bed linen. It is clean. We really liked the food. Varied, delicious, we and the children enjoyed the fish specialties, but also in classic food. Coffee is free and available 24 hours a day. The staff is very kind, helpful and pleasant. We felt nice and comfortable in the hotel the whole time, and the telephone communication we had when booking was pleasant and businesslike. Internet is very good. Excellent hotel for the price and the services provided. Compliments for the kindness of the staff, Snezana Jovicic who works at the reception, Mr. Ante, the staff
The hotel does not have an elevator. There is a swimming pool that is cleaned every day, morning and evening. The bar near the restaurant is very nice, but could be improved with some ambient...
Read moreWe have stayed at Hotel Lumbarda five times before, and this was by far the worst experience.||We made a reservation a month in advance, and despite being loyal returning guests, we had to negotiate hard just to get a small discount – our total bill was over €1,000.|To make matters worse, we later found the same offer on Booking.com for €300 less, including all taxes, during peak season!||The receptionist, Snežana Anisijević Jovičić, was completely unprofessional. She offered us the lower price only if we paid in cash, and refused to issue a fiscal receipt – which is illegal. The hotel café and restaurant do the same – no proper invoices, just handwritten notes. This is clearly a planned and dishonest practice.||Breakfast was a health risk – rotten eggs, stale bread, and food left out overnight under plastic. The smell in the dining room was terrible, and it was obviously not cleaned properly.||Staff were rude and careless.||We felt cheated and disrespected – especially as repeat guests. This is no longer a place we can trust. Avoid...
