Guest house Slavica is a very good place for a comfortable and budget stay. I stayed there with my mom for two nights. It's in a nice neighborhood full of guesthouses. The family lives in the house but you can barely feel them, except when they are needed. They are very friendly and helpful people. Salvica and her husband gave us a ride from and to bus station, and Plitvice National Park, which is what we were there for, for no extra charge. You will need to have a roaming phone though so you can call them for pickup.||We hadn't booked breakfast but were able to request it upon arrival as there is only ONE restaurant in a walking distance in the area. Slavica gave the options they can offer and asked us for our preferences and breakfast was ready both mornings according to our requests. And the breakfast room is so cute! They do not offer lunch though, so you'll need to go to that restaurant.||The room is nice, as big as any other room in a budget hotel. There were some toiletries available as well. Bed was comfortable, I'm not very picky on that. My only comment is that the curtains were very thin, and in the morning the light goes straight into the room at sunrise. This personally bothers me as I usually wake up the moment the sun comes into my eyes. Luckily we were too tired from the sight seeing, and slept like babies! :)||On our last day, Slavica even drove us to the supermarket as it was quite a walk and waited patiently in the car for us to buy our needs.||If you are not Luxury hotel people (not that there are any in the area), this place is...
Read moreSlavica and Marijan were wonderful hosts. They made up for their limited English with warm enthusiasm and hospitality. When stuck, we were able to communicated with the assistance of a translator on their computer.||||The room and private bathroom were clean and functional and met all our needs. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. We were able to do a load of laundry in their washing machine which was greatly appreciated.||||Breakfast was good. We declined to have dinner but regretted our decision when we saw Marijan grilling fish on his wood-fired barbeque for the other guests. ||||We had a rental car so we did not need to take advantage of Marijan's offer to take us to and pick us up from the park entrance which is a short drive away.||||We spent two nights here and can recommend this as a great place to stay while...
Read moreReally enjoyed my stay here. Location is amazing, 30 minutes from entrance 2 for Plitvice Lakes, two restaurants and a small store close are also very close. You can use the well equipped kitchen to cook your own food. I'd recommend bringing your own ingredients, because the shop in the village is quite expensive. Owners are really friendly and speak enough English to handle everything we needed. They even drove some other guests to entrance 1 of the national park - very courteous! Rooms are good for the price and generally quite clean. But the shower could use some love - if you're picky about cleanliness in the bathroom I'd recommend checking out another apartment in the area. But for me everything was fine. Would recommend if you want to visit Plitvice Lakes...
