Our party of 11, occupying four rooms, checked in the House in the afternoon of July 27, 2017. We were driven from Split direct to the family-run House with two hired cars. Our drivers and we were very impressed with the look of the House. Our concerns from the House were two: (1) how to get to the Plitvice Lakes and (2) how to get to the bus stop departing to Zagreb the next day. As to (1), the landlady quickly called a taxi to take us to the Plitvice Lakes at 10 kunas each (1 Km journey). As to (2), the landlady quickly pointed at the bus stop (a pre-terminus stop) in front of the House. So we made use of the taxi service to Plitvice Lakes and return from July 27-28, 2017. We had our dinner and breakfast at the House, which was cool (around 15 degree Celsius) during the night. The landlady was particularly hospitable, but I left my "Romeo & Juliet" hat at one of the open air sofas there during a photo session...

Nice place for a short visit to Plitvice Lakes. Very friendly family who runs the business. We were welcomed by Milan and he told us all about the neighbourhood and the park. Cosy room. Needs a bit of renovation (loose faucet, dripping shower, old mattresses). They have a nice space where you can sit and have breakfast (€7,50) or diner (€15). A bit cold but there is a heater and blankets. You just have to tell in advance if you would like to have dinner there and what you want, fish or meat. We had the meat and it was a lot and nice. You can walk from here to the entrance of the National Park, to Entrance 2. It is like 20-30 min walking. If you buy a ticket you can take the bus to the top. Walk to halfway, take the boat, walk further and take the bus back to Entrance 2. In this way you can see everything in ~6 hours with stops to make beautiful pictures.

Felt like a home away from home. The hosts are very warm and welcoming and took the time to explain the layout of the town and the various walking routes around the plitvice lakes. The room was large, and had one of the most comfortable beds that I have slept in. There is also an optional dinner for €15 per person and a buffet breakfast for €7 per person. The property is located about a 20 minute walk from Entrance 2 of the Plitvice Lakes and literally by the bus stop in Mukinje.

We just got back from 3 nights here and I have to say that Melica and her family were terrific hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for her. The large house accommodates a number of rooms on the 3rd and 1st floor (the family live on the 2nd floor). Our room was front facing on the 3rd floor and was plenty big enough for us with a large double bed and small sofa. The bathroom was well equipped and the shower (no bath) worked well. As mentioned, Melica provides a hairdryer. There is no a/c in the rooms which is normally ok as the summer nights are cool; however, there was a heatwave whilst we were there and it was a little uncomfortable. The family offer breakfast for Eu6 each and dinner for Eu15 each; but there are a couple of lovely restaurants about a 15 minute drive away (past Entrance 1) or a local pizza place about a 5 minute walk. The park entrance was a 15-20 minute walk (beware, it's a busy main road with no recognised pavement) or a 30 minute walk through a local village (and much safer!).||All in all, this was an excellent place to stay for visiting the park and the rooms were more than acceptable and...
