As for every year since 1995 we stayed at Konnos Bay Hotel Apartments for three weeks in September 2018. Our holidaywas as good as it always is and the familiarity only makes the experience sweeter. Having explored Cyprus extensively over 24 years we know the island well, and our main reason for staying at Konnos Bay Hotel Apartments is that of relaxing in a perfect (for us) environment. We always have the same apartment overlooking the beautiful bay. and we swim in the crystal clear waters twice a day (morning and afternoon) for at least an hour or more on each occasion. For those who want a more active time, Mike's Water Sports offers a complete range of activities, with safety as the prine consideration.||||We have made many Cypriot friends over the years, amonst them the manager Adamandini ably supported by Tsonga. The care and attention and support from Adamandini is second to none, and she will solve any problem which may arise, again ably supported by Tsonga. It is not just us who gets this support, although we are made to feel special, Adamandini makes every guest feel special. There were small improvements this year, with new beds and mattresses, but the same feeling of contentment made the holiday as special as it always is. ||||Perhaps what makes Konnos Bay special for us is the wonderful view of the bay, and, even the walk down from our apartment to the beach in the rural settings. We spend a lot of time just relaxing on our balcony, reading lots of books, swimming in the crystal clear warm sea. ||||The rooms have a kettle, a toaster and a microwave (the microwave is a welcome recent addition. We usually have breakfast in our apartment and generally eat out every evening. This year we discovered a new restaurant in Protars (Island Affair) and it has become our favourate (I have posted a seperate review of this restaurant). I should say that Pirillis restaurant at Konnos Bay has greaty inoroved, and can also be recommended.||||We always have a car, which generally we use only for going oput in the evenings and shopping at the quite large Lidl store for basics such as milk, water, etc but they do have an excellent selection of wine, spirits, etc. We rent our car from Windmills Car Rental in Protaras, and I have previously posted a review on that service, which is excellent value and totally reliable. Having said that, for those who do not want a car, there is an excellent bus service right outside Konnos Bay Hotel Apartment, and very cheap,||||I would strongly recommend Konnos Bay Hotel Apartmens for a totally relaxing holiday, more so, but different, from staying in a five star hotel! Will we be returning to Konnos Bay in 2019? Well I will be 84 and my wife 79, so,"God...
Read moreThis is an overdue review but I have visited this hotel 4 times with my family as we absolutely loved Cyprus and wanted to keep coming back.|Firstly the location is incredible, it is quiet and secluded, the hotel is directly above the beach and it is a long walk down to the beach itself but if you are mobile enough it's worth the walk as it's beautiful on the way down. Around the corner is Ghrekos Point which is the furthest point of the island and stunning. |Unfortunately this is where the positives end for the most part, we visited in 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2013 and we found that no improvements were ever made each time. For example the pool ladder had come away from the wall making it very unstable in our first visit it 2007, this still had not been fixed by our last visit in 2013. Also, in 2011 my brother, sister and I shared an apartment room on the very top floor, the only one on the floor itself and the balcony was basically on the roof, this was a great room and better equipped for 3 people and privacy, we requested this room well in advance for our final visit it 2013 and found that there were no perks for being repeat and loyal customers and found while we were there in 2013 that this room wasn't even occupied at the time! |The owner and family took up several tables joined together at meal times leaving very little space for actual customers.|Some of the waiting staff were lovely but the receptionists were rude and the maintenance man wasn't able to communicate at all and could not fix any of the problems we had with lights and air con. And when we asked for maintenance help as we had a huge ants nest in the room we were given a can of ant spray and no assistance. |The hotel was perfect at first as it was small and family friendly, however on returning a few times we saw the truth of the things that never get fixed or refurbished, the selfish behaviours of the owners and families, and the lack of perks for being a loyal...
Read moreHotel was lovely, slightly dated though clean, tidy & quiet, rooms were spacious with everything youd need for a self catering holiday. Beds were super comfortable. Can get dark at night time heading back to the rooms. The room has no lock inside it's entry door though it can't be opened from the outside unless the key is used. Rooms air conditioned too. |Staff extremely helpful, nothing was too much to ask from any of the staff. Good supermarket joined to reception open from 8am, nice cafe next to the supermarket. Prices very reasonable too. |Beach honestly hands down best place iv ever visited in my life, gorgeous. It does get busy so be down early to grab a bed and an umbrella, 7.5 euro, 2 beds and an umbrella. Earliest we went was around 10.30 and just managed to grab last one left. Cafe bar, showers and toilets just off the beach, water sports also. The sea was great, safe for kids to paddle/play.|Its a fair walk down the the beach and seems never ending on the way back up but 100% worth it. |There are signs for cyclops cove but my husband couldn't find it on his many trips around 😂|The bus service runs every 10 minutes into Protaras or in the opposite direction into Ayia Napa. 1.5 euro for the bus or you can buy day/weekly passes. Stops are directly outside the hotel and across the road and I'm sure they run all night. We found this way best to get around. Taxis were only around 10/15 euro coming back from Protaras /Ayia Napa. |We visited this hotel for a friend's wedding taking place at the grecian Park Hotel straight across the road from konnos Bay. Closer than it seems on Google maps. So ideal location if visiting for that reason. Both Protaras and Ayia Napa had good selection of bars and restaurants to suit everyone.|Would definitely return again.|Would have liked to have visited turtle beach but ran out of time. I could go on and on our holiday was...
