Activities Run by Rima, there was a daily offering of activities to all guests at the hotel. Rima spent time going around all outside areas to ensure all guests were aware and invited. Music was suitable for all ages and encouraged a fun and light atmosphere throughout. There was a morning stretch in the pool, soon followed by water aerobics, water polo (inside pool), table tennis, darts and water volleyball on a couple of occasions. She was fun and personable, and made everyone feel welcome and involve (the fact that she speaks 5 languages certainly helps!).
The restaurant had themed nights so there was always variation in what was offered. All food was cooked freshly and regularly replenished so never ran out. During breakfast, the chef was happy to make eggs to order including omelettes and also lots of yummy pancakes & lots of different milks available (rice, oat, coconut, soy etc) for your breakfast beverages. The service was well organised and staff always had a smile on their face to welcome us, they were attentive to customers needs and always kept our drinks topped up! Big shout out to Rania, George, Puja, Stavros, Akish and Kieran. (Currently blaming them for my excess holiday weight)
We enjoyed getting dressed up for the dinner and evening entertainment (evening dress code), it felt like we were going to see a new show each night. Being performers ourselves, we really appreciated the calibre and variety of performances on offer. From lounge , acoustic singers, to traditional Greek / Cypriot dancers and musicians, there was something for everyone. Whilst there was occasionally a queue at the bar (20 second walk from where you are sat), it wasn’t ever for more than 2-3 minutes as the staff were efficient with their work, Sonam and Tomas ensured drinks were flowing and customers were happy. Also want to mention Nikolas, his friendly demeanour and bright smile always made us feel welcome.
Marlon (fellow east Londoner), Theodora and Marcos, officially make the best margarita and virgin pina coladas around. They conversed easily with everyone and there was seldom waiting times as they were constantly busy attended to all. Snacks at the pool bar were readily available at the allocated times and are sufficient and generous in the portions.
Whilst we didn’t book in for treatments during our stay, the gym facilities were kept clean throughout our stay. The changing rooms were also ample in size and clean. The two ladies we met from the spa were very personable and always smiling. You can replenish your beach / pool towels daily here.
We had a junior suite with jacuzzi with the most exquisite view. The room was spacious and kept immaculately clean throughout our stay, and we even had a bottle of Prosecco and fruit plate upon arrival. 2 large bottles of water were also provided daily as well as ample toiletries and good, strong coffee.
Perfect distance between Ayia napa and Protaras if you’re wanting to explore (we did one night in each and easily ordered taxis from reception, there is also a local bus for €1.50 if preferred). The sea is only a 3 minute walk away, and is a rocky beach, with a beautiful view. Calm waters created a perfect spot for swimming and snorkelling. The hotel itself has modern furnishings and artwork throughout and is kept immaculately clean at all times. Check in / out was smooth, with staff at reception clearly explaining everything we would need for our stay and were always happy to assist throughout. We had to check out of our room at 12pm however our flight wasn’t until the night, we were able to use all hotel facilities post check out including lunch / dinner / drinks and use the spa showers once ready to leave. Tasia was a consistent friendly figure throughout our stay ensuring we were making the most of all that was on offer and asking if there was anything more they could do. Effie, the hotel manager, also checked in with us towards the end of our stay and was yet another smiling, friendly staff member.
Overall we had an incredible week, and cannot...
Read moreFirst off, I have to mention I was surprised by how relatively small the hotel is. It has a very decent location, a good pool, and, weather permitting, sea access via a small jetty with stairs. It's also very close to several attractions: Cyclop’s Cave, Turtle Beach (where I actually managed to see a turtle), Konnos Beach, and one other beach nearby.|The cleanliness of the property and the staff deserve high praise. I especially want to mention Sujan, Sagar, and Vasilis, whose service was excellent, personalized, and truly above and beyond. The animations were available, good, and most importantly, not intrusive. With two bars open in the evenings, you can spend your time however you like, whether you prefer a quiet evening or one with live music.|The food was decent, tasty, and offered a reasonably good selection. A downside for me was the "Healthy Spot," which most of the time just had water. I would also suggest improving the drink service during meals; our drinks were often brought to the table as we were already finishing our food. The Italian restaurant is only open twice a week, though we managed to book a table at check-in. It offered tasty food and a good selection.|When it comes to housekeeping, the standard was very high. Common areas were cleaned constantly, the pool was well-maintained, and the water quality was checked regularly. I only have two minor complaints: the floor in our room wasn't mopped daily, and on one occasion, despite leaving the "do not disturb" sign on the door, the housekeeping staff entered and cleaned our room anyway.|As for the facilities, the gym was well-equipped for such a small property. The pool, as I mentioned, was well-maintained, and the number of sunbeds was sufficient (we always managed to find one). In addition to the poolside loungers, there were plenty of them on the grass area with a sea view.||My Highlights and Downsides:|+ Cleanliness|+ Pool|+ Service / Staff|+ Location|+ Entertainer, non-intrusive entertainment||- Lack of restrooms on the ground floor (only one by the pool, only open during pool operating hours) - the pool, bars, and restaurant are all located on this level.|- Only one, very worn-out yoga/exercise mat in the gym.|- 'Healthy corner' in the...
Read moreGreat hotel, which sometimes feels like a 5 star. Very clean, well maintained, modern and stylish. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They offer a wide variety of food during breakfast, lunch and diner. The food itself is great, especially the warm chocolate cake at the desert buffet. There is some entertainment during the day like boccia, darts and watervolleyball. In the evening there is live music which really brings a nice atmosphere. As it is adults only, the hotel is quiet and calm and great for relaxing. The nearest beach (Konnos) is a short hike of 20 minutes away, but the hotel also offers a shuttle bus. Make sure to go there, because it's a small paradise. We rented a car during our stay to get around (they drive on the left side in Cyprus). But otherwise a bus or taxi can also bring you to Protaras or the very lively city of Ayia Napa. A must-see is Ghost City in Famagusta. Very impressive. Crossing the boarder (by foot) in the Capital of Nicosia is also recommended. Make sure to bring your passport. A special thanks to the ladies and guys from the Aegeo Spa. Besides the great massages we got, we also had some fun and nice conversations and they gave good tips of where to go in Cyprus.
On some occasions, certain drinks from the all inclusive where not available (even red wine). Of course, there are plenty of other drinks, but selling no when it's all-inclusive doesn't give the best impression. In some cases, we also got a different cocktail from the one we ordered. Tasted good as well, but maybe a cocktail training would do both guests and staff some good (just a recommendation). It's not a complaint about the staff. The guys and girls from the bar and restaurant were very friendly and did their absolute best.
I would also recommended to open the gym earlier, like 07:00 in the morning. For those who like to work-out before breakfast.
Rooms are clean and big enough. The air-conditioning turns down whenever the temperature outside goes below a certain degree. This caused our room to get a bit warm overnight, even with the balcony door open. We got a fan in our room, which helped. We were also offered a room higher up, but the fan did the trick. Many thanks to the women from Guest...
