Hotel Polonia — Hotel in Cheb District

This hotel is located in heart of Marianské Lázně. When you enter to hotel you see that everything is quite old. This hotel has 2 parts - old and after reconstruction. We were lucky that we stayed in reconstructed room. This room had bathroom, WC and TV. What we were missing there was fridge. The rooms before reconstruction don´t have it. TV is in corridor or in special room on 1st floor. WC and bathrooms for these rooms are also in corridor. ||||Why nice retro? We paid HB. When we came to check in the receptionist told us number of our table in hotel restaurant - we couldnt sit where we wanted during all our staying. Service in this restaurant is ala carte (except breakfast - it´s bufet) but when you come for dinner they dont ask you what u wanna eat and they bring u something - for next days u can choose from menu. Our 1st dinner was soo terrible - we got some unidentifiable meat with something what czechs who was born before the Velvet revolution call "Universal Brown Sauce". This sauce was usefull to almost all kind of food and I can say that taste of this sauce is horrible. This sauce I had on my plate 3 times during 1 week. ||||To staff: If you are there for 1st time DO NOT EXPECT any smile, any nice word or greeting from them. In the very center of Marianske Lazne-extraordinary place to go to in the winter, during your Christmas holidays, you will find this retro hotel, which is a historical building(beautiful). We stayed in this hotel in August 2016, sorry for a late review. Our room had its own bathroom and was OK. The breakfast buffet selection was acceptable and both lunch and dinner was edible. The restaurant staff was rather incompetent. Some of them seemed to just wonder around. As other reviewers mentioned, it's better to go for massages and other spa procedures elsewhere.
