Singing Fountain — Attraction in okres Rakovník

If playing pre-recorded music to a water fountain is a tourist attraction, my morning showers are worthy of a map pin. To be fair this visit was during daytime and there might be more to the spectacle at night with lights. For me, the most surprising aspect in visiting this fountain was the "reborn" meetup surrounding the outer fountain wall with proud collectors displaying their babies and vintage carriages, filling the space between the on-the-hour fountain event with photo...

(English review is below) Poměrně moderně (či možná lehce retro) působící fontána z 80. let z výšky vzdáleně připomínající hvězdnou bránu střídá svůj repertár trysek a každé dvě hodiny (výjimkou je večer) od 7 hodin ráno do 22 večer přehrává připravený program využívající hudbu, různé trysky a jejich intenzitu a od devíti večer (v létě) i barevná světla osvětlující stříkající vodu. Skladby se každým rokem mírně obměňují a některé jsou z žánru klasické hudby, některé z populární a filmové hudby (např. roku 2024 Nothing else matters, Dobytí ráje od Vangelise. Některé programy jsou povedené, některé méně a hudba s vodou příliš neladí, ale je to působivá podívaná a rád si při každé návštěvě najdu čas aspoň na některé představení. Program lze najít na internetu na webu města nebo na tabuli u fontány. Představení v devět večer je letos (srpen 2022) žádané a dobré místo je zabrané už 10 minut předem. V pátek a o víkendu někdy pustí bonus.

English (short): It is a bit retro fountain from 80s' looking from top a bit like a stargate, which offers not only normal sequence of different water jets, but also a special program each 2 hours from 7 to 22 (it is 21:00 and 22:00) which uses during dark time colorful lights and different water flows and music. Sweet memories of a distant time... In these days of hyper super dancing singing fountains at every amusement park, I enjoyed visiting for the first time in perhaps 20 years the now very modest singing fountains of Marienbad.... The city has not been destroyed by rampant tourism like Karlsbad or even Prague in the summer months. It remains a pleasant, simple Czech spa. I hope it...
