I selected Hotel Andy because of the good reviews and its location. I was returning to my home town after 27 years and wanted to stay near to where I used to live. We originally booked for 2 nights. When we arrived, I saw a sign on the street pointing to Hotel Andy parking. We arrived to a garage door in a dumpy looking alley. I pressed the buzzer for reception, no answer. Same for buzzer for restaurant. I called the hotel and no answer. Made our way to the front of the hotel and got a callback from someone from the hotel. That seemed a good sign. He explained that the garage is not to be used. Parking is in front of the building. Why is the parking sign then there?||We got our key from the lockbox at the front door. We were in a large room with a balcony. The pillows were soft and lumpy. My wife’s comment was that she wouldn’t even have donated such a pillow to a dog shelter. The bed sheet looked like it was cheap polyester terry cloth rather than a sheet. Three of the wall sconces didn’t work and one of the ceiling bulbs was out. The towels were rather flimsy. I figured we will be able to survive for two nights until I started looking why the TV didn’t work and where we can plug in our phone chargers. Behind the desk was a plug with a swarm of ants around it running in and out of it and along the wall. I immediately called the hotel number again, but wasn’t able get hold of anyone. Tried texting, but no response. Eventually after trying about half a dozen times, the owner/manager answered. I told him that we cannot stay in that room and need to move. We repacked everything. He called back to say that there was a room available that we can have for the night. He offered to comp our breakfast. I was under the impression that breakfast was included anyway. The new room was about half the size of the original room with only one window compared to about 3 in the original and had 2 separate twin beds. It, however, looked cleaner than the balcony room. ||In the morning we informed the hotel person that we will not stay another night. She said we can pay for one night only and no charge for breakfast. I mentioned that on the web they charge different prices based on the size of the room and we should pay for a smaller room, which is what we had. She said the price for both rooms is the same. I asked to speak to the manager and she called the same guy, Rudy. I explained to him that we should pay a lesser charge, but he insisted the charge is the same for both rooms. He also claimed that they didn’t find any ants in our original room. I have a picture of them and texted the picture to him the night before. He wouldn’t budge and stated he isn’t willing to discuss it further. ||I paid for the room and left. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel under ANY circumstances. I don’t know why it’s rated as a 3* hotel. The amenities are poor, the bedding is disgusting and they scam their customers. Comping an already free breakfast is not a great deal and charging the same price for a room half the size is a scam, because when you want to book, the price depends on the size and location of the room. ||Would have given it...

Read moreThis hotel is squuezed in old part of city between old and ugly buildings. At first glance look very little, but rooms are big, not new but clean and in good condition. Restaurant not bad too, just breakfast is very poor and all "choice" is rolls, jam, one type of ham and cheese and something that someday was musli... Price is average, friendly staff. Problem is with parking - in this crazy narrow road by hotel is parking rather not reccomended. They have hotel parking, but must pay some 5-6 Eur more and if you have bigger car, you will have problem to sqeeze there, cause you must first drive through very narrow road to reach...
