At Hotel Arnost Garni in Pardubice, I had one of the worst staying experience in my life.
We were a crowded group who spent almost twelve hours to reach Pardubice. After this exhausting trip, we checked-in the hotel. As a group leader, while arranging our rooms&luggages I just wanted to ask a favour from the man at the reception to call a suggested restaurant for reservation. He eventually rejected the demand and was not gentle and added “We don’t have such kind of services” Okey, no problem.
Rooms generally have three seperate single-sized beds, no air contidioner, no hair dryer and so on. Corridors were dark and lights were not working properly. Toilet in my room was still dirty and I immediately informed that receptionist guy.
After the first day, I put the green label on my door to clean my room, but why should I see when I was returned. Even my trash box was not cleaned out. After that, I asked the same guy whether they clean the room everyday or not. He said, we don’t do that and don’t change the towels and bed spreads unless you stay more than 5 days. It was disgusting.
It was just like a hostel with limited services such as breakfast. I can’t believe that how did place get a good score on booking.com.
Are you supposed to come to the end of our story, right? Nope.
Since our group did not like the hotel and our meetings were about to be finalized, then we kindly asked to that guy again whether the cancellation of last night staying and refund our money. He called his manager and director respectively and said we are not able to make a decision right now, maybe we can maybe not. How are you unproffesional hotel, I was shocked. Hey Mr, we should check out tomorrow morning and how can you expect us to handle this last minute decision from your side??? He also said, if you were single, I would refund your payment but you are crowded and then it is not possible. Where is standart approach and customer satisfaction Mister?
I said that I am not happy with your approach and I will not have good comments on your Hotel and I can not consider to prefer this place for our next meetings. Then, he easily mentioned that, okey if you don’t like you can consider other places. One more shock for me…
Anyway, please be so kind to take into account this experience while deciding where to stay...
Read moreI'd give this place two and a half stars.||I stayed for two nights recently. It served my purposes well enough, but I'd recommend looking at other hotels if you're staying in the city for longer.||The positives:|It's clean.|The staff are friendly enough.|It's not a far walk from the city centre and public transit.||The negatives:|It feels very dated and more like a dormatory in some ways.|My bed was not comfortable, the mattress was thin and the pillow was formless.|Breakfast was buffet style and the selection was poor.|Breakfast room was a bit small and claustrophobic.|Hotel is located near a busy road and the train station, so it was a bit noisy at times.|Lifts are small and not modern.|There is a smoking space right at the main entrance so smoke is unavoidable.||Not sure:|I did my business in Czech, so I'm not sure about linguistic flexibility in the staff.|I'm not sure any room offers special views, the surrounding area is very plain.||My own room (413) was spacious for a single room in my experience. It was clean, but basic. Interestingly, the bathroom looked less dated than the rest of the room and so may have been redone more recently.||I've stayed in hotels in Pardubice before. If my previous experiences in the city are anything to go by, Hotel Arnost Garni...
Read moreWe were there from June 1st-June 11th for the Ball Hockey Championship - location is perfect - walking distance to the arena's, the train, local cafe's, etc, but the location was the only perfect thing. There's a note on the table in the room that clearly states you only get supplies every THREE days..that's being generous as we checked in on a Thursday morning and didnt see nor hide or hair of the cleaning lady until Monday....apparently, they dont clean on weekends so the 3 day note is really misleading) That means no clean towels, sheets, etc. for up to 5 days if you are unfortunate enough to check in late in the week. They do NOT offer complimentary coffee, water, snacks, tea, etc - you could buy but it was not offered. They do have free wifi!!!!! If you are looking for real basic with absolutely no perks and the occasional fresh clean towel, bedding, etc, then the Arnost will not disappoint. Having said that - Pardubice is a beautiful little town with lots of cafe's and shops - too bad they closed early...
