Rooms: spacious, with big, comfortable beds, a writing desk, small coffee table with extra armchair. There is a minibar, but it is empty (therefore the vending machine in the foyer). Bathroom has a shower, ventilation was apparently working, but I failed to notice it. TV set, water kettle, some complimentary tea & instant coffee bags. WiFi is also available, appr 10/5 Mbit UL/DL. In some areas, cleanliness could be improved.
There is a vending machine in the foyer - with some sweets, chocolate bars, beer & drinks.
Service: the reception is working until 8pm.
Only breakfast is available, served either on the terrace in the summer or in the dining room. Breakfast is acceptable and adequate, but nothing special - eggs (scrambled, sunny-side), sausages, beans. Bread: buns and toast (from Lidl), also a full corn bread, but not fresh. Only one type of sausage and one type of sliced cheese. There is a coffee machine with 2 choices - short or long coffee. Milk foam must be ordered extra. Yogurt (from Lidl), cereals, spread cheese, butter... also available. A wider variety of freshly baked bread would strongly be advisable (there is a bakery nearby).
Orange 'juice' is a joke, it is actually just an orange syrup, diluted with water. This definitely needs improvement!
Breakfast level is not on par with the room prices, guests definitely do not want to eat food from Lidl, but want to taste something pristine and local. And the area has a lot to offer!
Location: located in the old town, in the Jewish quarter, has its advantages and disadvantages. It is really quiet! It is easy to walk to the town! Parking capabilities behind the hotel are a bit limited (reserving a parking place in the garage helps, but is even more limited).
PS: dear owners, thank you for your reply and comments. In my reviews, I always try to present the situation as seen from someone coming to the place for the first time, providing as much useful information as possible.
My comment regarding the minibar did not affect the rating, actually, the vending machine somewhat explained why it was empty.
The comment regarding the AI because of the bakery and Lidl being stated - well, there is a small bakery a street underneath, I passed it by when walking into town. And I'm sure it is not the only one in Třebič. And Lidl - your refrigerator in the dining room is full of Pilos yogurt. Where is the Pilos yogurt being sold? In Lidl!
Instead of concentrating on the things you found negative: I tried to express positive sides as much as some (far less) negative sides - the neutral description of the real situation will come handy to someone coming to your hotel. A plus for someone can be a minus for somebody else. Try to concentrate on the few things you can very easily improve - more versatile food choices and a proper orange juice. I believe that overall rating was adequate and pretty favorable!
I don't use AI to write hotel reviews.
And to answer the most important question - would I come again to...
Read moreWe stayed here for 1 night in September 2023. The person at the reception desk was very friendly, spoke English and offered us a welcome beverage. This property is very unique as it is built into the side of the hill. Our room was Room 43. It had 2 levels to it. We entered on the lower level which had a sofa, desk and the bathroom. The was a staircase to the bed upstairs that took a 90 degree right turn after 3 steps. It was unique as it each step was designed for left or right foot. We were very careful going up and down the stairs and left a light on below at night to illuminate the steps. The upstairs has a slanted ceiling that I (over 6') had to duck under. There is no air conditioning, but there is a door to a very small balcony upstairs to let in cool air, plus they have provided a fan for cooling. It was a cool night in September, so this was not an issue for us. Bed was comfortable. There were TVs upstairs and downstairs. Downstairs sofa was comfortable and there was storage space. Bathroom has shower with good water pressure. There is a vending machine in the main building with snacks, beer and wine. Breakfast was just OK with basic breakfast food, meats, cheese, bread, yogurt, and eggs. Our timing was bad as the Hungarian baseball team. was staying here and they were all down at breakfast when we arrive and here were no available tables inside. We tried to eat outside, but too many smokers. Luckily room 43 is next to the breakfast room so we were able to dine in our room. Overall, this was a nice, unique place to stay, and we would stay here again if ever...
Read moreRecommended. Nice hotel situated on a hillside. Quiet location on the perimeter of the Jewish Quarter and short walk to the bridge to Trebic's Town Square. Communication with staff was good. Disappointed they declined request to extend check-out to 11 AM from 10 AM--hostess said "is not possible". One hour, really? We stayed one night in Room #26. Plenty of room for two travelers, stated size is 33m². Very clean. The bed and pillows were very comfy but linens had a stale odor. The bathroom is cozy but adequate. There is a tub/shower with a glass shower surround covering about half of the tub. Room has a sitting area with a sofa, two TVs, two desks with chairs, a very small fridge (stocked with beverages for purchase). Nice breakfast room opens at 7 AM with scrambled eggs, links, cereals, cheese, cold cuts, etc. Wi-Fi signal was fair, very weak near the bed. Lots of power outlets for charging devices but not all conveniently located. SDB. Free parking behind the building. Payment terms: Paid...
