Grand hotel — Hotel in okres Třebíč

I visited this establishment as part of a business trip in 2009 that booked a large number of rooms around Trebic. Trebic itself is well worth a visit with a wonderful museum and lots of other sights to see. This hotel is not representative of this but does a marvellous job of representing everything that some might say is wrong and others would say that is right about the contemporary Czech Republic. It may only be because we were there as part of a large business booking but the timid types should stay well clear if our experience was quite extraordinary. The barmaids in the cellar were topless, there were pole shows and all sorts going on, the beer was cheap, even by Czech standards and whilst the girls were stunning to look at I was worried that it was ultimately all a little bit forced and sad. I'd love to think that these girls were getting paid properly but they probably weren't. Sad. There are several great places to eat around Trebic, sadly none are in this hotel. The best bet is to go out of the hotel onto the main street, turn left and wander along the main street for about 500m and you'll find and incredible pizza restaurant. The Jewish quarter is also worth exploring, some of the cafes are lovely but if you do get the chance to explore then make sure that you take in the Trebic museum,||||I've just realised that I've failed to mention much about the hotel. What can I say? 4* is their aspiration and I commend their efforts to achieve this. In my personal opinion this will not be achieved through the medium of very VERY attractive ladies with little or no clothes on but would be better achieved by increasing the space available to each guest as our room was a little cramped. ||||We only ate at breakfast (except a very late night dinner) and it was consistently average. There are better places to eat locally but the grand will lay something on that will last you until lunchtime.||||If you're looking for 4* luxury then this is not your place. Tento vikend jsmebyli s pritelkyni prave v tomto hotelu tak pridam take svoje osobni zkusenosti. Pobyt objednavala pritelkyne a ja az na posledni chvili shledl recenze ktere tu jsou od byvalych klientu. Uprimne mel jsem trochu strach, nicmene jsme se oba chteli presvedcit na vlastni oci a pro to jsme se tedy rozhodli ze pojedeme. Na hotel jsme prijeli okolo 3 hodiny, prvni vec ktera se mi prestala libit hned ze zacatku byla situace s parkovanim, na svych strankach uvadi ze je to parkoviste pro 30 osobnich vozidel, se zavorou a hlidane, nic takove urcite necekejte, na parkoviste se 30 aut vejde tak mozna bez moznosti otevreni dveri, zavora tam slouzi spis jako kosmeticky doplnek, tudiz je stale nahore a za dobu pobytu nebyla dole vubec nikdy, hlidane je maximalne dvema kamerami ktera zdaleka nestaci na celou plochu parkoviste a jako tresnicka...parkoviste je na 100% pristupne siroke verejnosti, je pruchozi z predni strany hotelu az dozadu takze se kdokoliv muze podivat co mate ten den ve voze, doporucuji vse brat s sebou a zamykat na sest zapadu. Po prijezdu do hotelu nas mile prekvapila slecna na recepci, ochotna a mila, snaha ze strany personalu je ocividni a nemeli jsme s ni nejmensi problem, druha vec je obsluha v restauraci ale k tomu se jeste dostanu. Zhruba po 15 minutach jsme dostali kartu od pokoje a sli jsme se ubytovat, pokoj ani nadprumerny ani podprumerny, proste normalni standart, kde jsem napriklad postradal lednicku ktera ma byt povinnosti ve 4 hvezdickovem hotelu. Po nejake dobe jsme dostali chut na whirpool, po sdeleni priplatku 500,- Kč na hodinu jsme se rozhodli ze tedy pujdeme, slecna z recepce nam bohuzel rekla ze pani provozni nenechala spravit trysku (motor) bez ktereho je whirpool zcela nepouzitelny, sli jsme se tedy projit trebicskym skoro vecernim mestem. Pocit z mesta dobry, nicmene podle meho nazoru neni zde moc outdoorovych aktivit kdyz s sebou zrovna nemate kola, to uz nas omnohem vice nadchla Jihlava ktera je zhruba 30 km od Trebice a uzijete si zde omnohem vice zazitku. Nenechte se ovsem zmast klidnym chodem Trebicskeho namesti, zhruba okolo 9 hodiny vecer se namesti promeni tatrka v dzungli plnou kricicich ozralu, pulka z nich tvori 17 leti kteri tam akorat delaji bordel, kdyz nezavrete balkonove dvere nemate sanci usnout. Do grand hotelu jsme si jeli odpocinout a spise budeme dospavat doma, jelikoz jsme nemeli sebemensi sanci se normalne vyspat. Bazen byl uzasny, nejake ty kosmeticke vady na zdech jako popraskana omitka atd. jsou na dennim poradku, zvlaste v oblasti bazenu. Celkove ale hotel ze vnitr nevypada vubec spatne ba naopak, v urcitych castech primo hiri ctyrmi hvezdami. V neposledni casti se dostavame k restauraci a kuchyni. Meli jsme polopenzi tudiz snidane a vecere, prvni vecer kdyz jsme spolecne zasedli ke stolu me zarazila jedna vec a to menu restaurace. Podle predchozich recenzi si zde lidi stezovali na zakladni jidla jako kureci rizek s bramborovym salatem, bramboracky atd. hlavne z hlediska nedodelanosti, tyto jidla jsou stale v nabidce i po 4 letech, na kvalitu jidla si ja osobne ovsem stezovat nemohu, pritelkyne uz na tom byla hure s nedodelanym kurecim platkem, coz je podle meho zalezitost kterou zvladne i decko. Snidane ok, vyberte si co chcete, donaska na pokoj je ovsem dalsi bod ktery me zklamal, v restauraci v dobu naseho pobytu pusobili 4 osoby : Cisnik, kuchar a dve cisnice, pri telefonicke objednavce na pokoj nam bylo receno ze to neni standartni sluzba a ze to proste nestihaji, pri dalsim hovoru to same. Personal restaurace se sice na prvni pohled snazi ale pri podrobnejsim sledovani je jasne znatelne, ze ani nevedi kam maji co nosit, usedli jsme ke stolu pri romanticke veceri a misto predrkrmu na ktery jsme cekali pul hodinu na byl donesen rovnou hlavni chod, slecnu jsme tedy s prominutim poslali zpet a po zkonzumovani predkrmu na byl tedy donesen hlavni chod ktery nam byl prinesen jako prvni. Bohuzel byl zcela studeny, obsluha se tedy ani nenamahala nam jidlo ohrat v mikrovlnne troube ale proste ho jen tal dala stranou a cekala, az nam ho...

Compared to other 4 Star hotels in Europe that I have stayed in, this hotel falls well short of the mark in a number of areas. ||The hotel advertises itself as having a "fitness centre". It does not. What it does have is an off colour swimming pool which is extremely dimly lit at the best of times, and a sauna that someone has started to construct but not finished. ||Breakfast was sub-standard for the entire time I was there, and swimming in grease. The bar staff were grumpy throughout and, considering the amount of money we spent in the hotel over two and a half weeks could have done more to help. ||My room was not cleaned once during the entire duration of my stay and bedding was not changed. The only interaction with cleaning was having a towel thrown into my doorway every other day. ||If you are unlucky enough to have a room at the front of the hotel, take some noise cancelling headphones as the walls and windows don't stop any noise at all. ||On the plus side, my room was warm when I needed it to be, cool when I needed it to be, and dry.
