The family and I spent a few days at the LegoLand Castle Hotel to spend time at Legoland and Lego House for the first time. This is also our first time in Denmark. So, please keep that in mind as I review this location.||I do want to start with the positives. For those going to Legoland, it is a very good location. It is great that you can enter the park 30 minutes earlier than the rest of the public. However, none of the attractions are available or open at that time. You can walk around but not actually go in any of the attractions. For those used to the early Disney entrance and use of the amusement park, this is quite a different experience. ||Back to the hotel, the staff is very friendly. They spoke English well. The rooms were what we expected from a setup standpoint based on the videos we had watched on YouTube.||Having two kids who are in elementary school, we appreciated the Legos in the room. We appreciated the Legos throughout the hotel. The kids enjoyed making Lego sculptures everywhere. There was also a playplace right outside the hotel and other things that the kids could play with around the exterior of the hotel. So, it is quite a kid-friendly hotel.||Now, onto the negatives …to start, we specifically chose this hotel versus Legoland hotel, because this hotel had air conditioning. I had read multiple reviews where Americans had stated that they wished they had stayed where there was air conditioning. There is air conditioning in this hotel, however, the thermostat is locked in child mode. There is no phone number to call front desk. Oh, did I mention there is no phone in the room? You need to manually walk downstairs. Each time I went down, there were multiple people checking in. We only have a limited amount of time here and it was annoying having to wait in line just to try to get this determination. Since we’re only here a total of three nights, I only tried to pursue this three times. But, each time there were three or four families in line trying to check in. So, I went on YouTube and tried to follow the instructions from YouTube for this specific thermostat and it still did not work. Admittedly, it is not Houston heat. But, we were all warm each night going to sleep and waking up even when the temperature outside was only 65°. Bizarrely, it got warmer in the room as it got colder outside. If it was any hotter outside, and, therefore, in the room, I would have really rated this hotel too because of the fact that this is a specific reason we chose this hotel and not a Ninjago - themed hotel room, which is what my kids preferred.||Next, we were only here for three nights and they forgot to make the room on our second day. It was annoying because we had to ask for towels. Also, the remote control was broken for one of the TVs. Granted, we were not in the room too much. But, it would’ve been nice had it been working. Again, this goes back to how much we spent on this room and whether we got appropriate value for the spend.||Third, we ordered the premium mini bar package. It would have been nice at the time of paying for it had they told us that it would be a one time stocking only. The cost for one day was not terribly unreasonable, but it would have been helpful to know that it was only for one day. Apparently, they do not restock during housekeeping. I guess we will find out as we still don’t have housekeeping done yet. ||We ate at the restaurant on location for breakfast with the buffet and had no complaints. The cost of the buffet was included in the cost of the room. We were two families and we were both traveling with younger kids. So, the fact that there were pancakes and bacon there were great. There were actually multiple decent choices and I thought the breakfast buffet was pretty good. Their self-baked bread was excellent. The dinner buffet was at best average and quite overpriced. You also get charged for water although they will credit you the cost of the water if you order something. I forgot what it was.||Another complaint we had and we knew this going in, there were no facilities for laundry at the hotel. I had to walk about 10 minutes with dirty clothes in a roller bag to the Legoland Holiday village. There, I had to buy a separate token for the washer and the dryer. Also, like an idiot, I forgot our Tide pods and fabric softener. So, I had to spend about eight dollars on a bottle of detergent for laundry. They did not have any small single or double use laundry items.||Would we stay here again? Probably not. That is a factor of two things. We are just not impressed with the hotel especially for paying a little over $3000 for three nights, which includes breakfast, one day ticket to Legoland for four of us and one day ticket to Lego house for four of us. For that price, our expectations were a lot higher and not met. Second, our kids are getting close to middle school-age and I don’t know if we will be traveling to Denmark anytime soon after this trip. ||As a sidenote, we were able to travel directly from the airport to the hotel via the free city shuttle. If you are landing at the airport, I would recommend you look into that before paying money for a taxi, Uber or walking it. The hotel is not far from the airport.||Did our kids have a great time? Yes, they did. So, ultimately, as parents, we are happy that we made...
Read moreMy family and I recently visited LEGOLAND® Billund Resort for a day of fun and adventure, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience! From start to finish, the resort exceeded our expectations, providing a perfect blend of excitement, entertainment, and quality family time.
The moment we stepped foot into the park, we were greeted with the iconic LEGO sculptures and a vibrant atmosphere that instantly brought smiles to our faces. The resort's cleanliness and well-maintained facilities were evident, making us feel safe and comfortable throughout our visit.
The variety of rides and attractions catered to all ages, ensuring that each member of our family had something to enjoy. The younger kids were thrilled by the colorful DUPLO® Play Areas and the gentle rides designed just for them, while the older ones (and the parents!) couldn't get enough of the thrilling roller coasters and 4D experiences. The LEGO® NINJAGO® World was a particular favorite, as we all got to join forces and battle virtual enemies together, creating unforgettable memories.
What truly impressed us was the attention to detail in every corner of the park. The LEGO-themed landscapes, interactive play areas, and immersive attractions truly brought the LEGO world to life. The Miniland, featuring famous landmarks constructed entirely from LEGO bricks, was an absolute marvel to behold and a testament to the creativity and craftsmanship that goes into every aspect of LEGOLAND®.
The staff members were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Their enthusiasm added to the overall joyful atmosphere, and they were always ready to assist with any questions or concerns we had.
Food options were plentiful and diverse, catering to various dietary preferences, and we found the quality to be exceptional. Having a family lunch while overlooking the picturesque scenery made the experience all the more delightful.
The day passed by too quickly, and we didn't get a chance to experience everything the resort had to offer, leaving us eager to return for another visit. We were grateful for the strategically placed rest areas and water fountains, which allowed us to recharge and stay hydrated throughout the day.
In conclusion, LEGOLAND® Billund Resort is a haven for families seeking a day filled with joy, laughter, and shared adventures. It's the perfect destination for children and adults alike, where the magic of LEGO comes to life. We wholeheartedly recommend this resort to anyone looking for an exceptional family outing, and we can't wait to visit again soon!
Thank you, LEGOLAND® Billund Resort, for an incredible day that will remain etched in our...
Read moreThe hotel magic environment was amazing, my daughter loved it and there are lots of playgrounds areas to play before Legoland opens. Employees are nice and polite. Only bad thing hotel-related are the pillows that are extremelly small. |But unfortunately, we had a terrible experience regarding dinner. After a long day of traveling and the next day after the whole day playing in Legoland, we only wanted to sit down in the hotel, close to our beds, enjoy good food and wine while our daughter played in the kids’ area in the restaurant. But instead, I had to stress myself and argue with the employees in the restaurant because Castle Hotel and Legoland Hotel do not have good communication around their agreements. |I booked the Legoland Castle Hotel and added the knight’s menu to the package which was highly recommended by a friend (this menu includes food and unlimited drinks, including a variety of wine, beer, sodas, juice, etc). Arriving at the Castle Hotel, the reception lady said that the dinner would be in the Panorama restaurant in the Legoland hotel (which is walking distance – but with a tired 3-year-old during winter time seemed like a marathon). |When we got to the Panorama restaurant, we expected the waiters to know about this deal, and for our surprise, only one waiter heard about this and the people we spoke before said we would need to pay for all our drinks and that Castle hotel and Legoland hotel were completely different stuff (and looking at us like we were crazy to not know about this). Then after some time and arguing we were able to ask for drinks and not pay for it – but we only had 1 option for red wine and 1 for white wine, or sodas. |The next night, apparently people were a bit more informed about the deal, they knew we did not have to pay for drinks. BUT they said we could only have ONE GLASS of drink each. And again – I need to stress and argue that this is not what I bought and try to make people understand that it is not my problem if they don’t have a good communication. |So, in summary, if you want to go to the hotel – highly recommend – but maybe have dinner somewhere else. It will be cheaper and less stressful. |Such a shame I cannot give the 5 stars the hotel deserves due to this stressful...
