We booked Lalandia as a group of 6 - 4 adults and 2 children aged 12 & 9, stayed for a week in October half term. We had one wheelchair user in our group so accessibility is a factor. ||The Lodge: The Lodge was spacious and the area it was in was quiet and nice, there was a couple of decent playparks near the accommodation. We were a long way from the main areq and the land train was never empty enough to use as a wheelchair user, so we paid the £17ish for an annual parking pass up near the building. Unfortunately that's where the positives end, it was dirty, on arrival the last people's linen was still at the door. The spa bath was absolutely filthy - clearly people hadn't been following the cleaning procedures. We found dog bones under one of the beds, there was marks and stains on the sofas and tables etc. The last people's crockery was even still in the dishwasher. The bed linen (which you have to pay per person for) was yellowed and old. Beds were uncomfortable as they have mattress toppers that slide around. You are also paying for your utilities - it cost us £75 for 6 people for the week for the gas, electricity & water. ||The food: We at Bones, the Italian and Mexican buffets and the breakfast buffet. Overall we felt all were overpriced, in particular the buffets, if you were comparing to the choice vs cost for somewhere like a European center parcs as we were, you'd be very disappointed every meal was £100-£150 for a family of 4, which you wouldn't mind if the food was good, it was cold and under or overcooked, poor choice for children and adults alike, your drinks are also charged extra. Flies were also everywhere on the fruit at the breakfast buffet. ||The activities: We didn't buy the gold wristbands as only 1 of the children would have done most activities, due to disabilities in the group, unfortunately you have to pay for everyone staying in your apartment if you buy the wristbands, so it isn't cost effective. We paid for mini golf, shuffleboard, the high flyer thing & the trampolines, all were OK- again nothing like you'd expect if you have experience of a center parcs - think closer to Butlins in terms of atmosphere and quality! The staff were friendly with the children mostly. ||Aquadome: I hate to keep making the comparison but as we've visited Netherlands centre parcs, that was our comparison, the pool was far too busy, they seem to sell too many day tickets rather than prioritising enjoyment of the resident guests. Long queues for every slide, lifeguards didn't seem to be paying any attention at all. The changing rooms are overcrowded with minimal seating, the disabled changing is combined with family so there was often a long queue to use these, meaning we ended up using the main changing which is all very open and full of selfish people who hog the limited bench spaces. It seemed clean in the pool area but due to the sheer volume of people we didn't stay in long anytime we went. We did enjoy the hot outdoor pool, but again was often very overcrowded. ||Legoland/Wow park/Lego house: activities in the area were the highlight of our trip, accessibility was good and the prices were reasonable. The area of Billund was lovely and the people were friendly. The airport was small but the accessibility was good. There is a Netto nearby which is a little cheaper than the onsite supermarket. ||In summary if you go expecting something like an overpriced butlins, you won't be disappointed. But if you have experience of the pricing, cleanliness and range of activities of the centre parcs around Europe you'll probably be disappointed as we were. We wouldn't return to stay at Lalandia, but would return to the...
Read moremixed bag.... We had a good time in Billund but we will not stay in Lalandia again. There are some big cons that all guests should know about before booking specially for the price you pay... PROS:
CONS;
We really had a great time in Billund taking in all the sights and all things LEGO. Billund is small, from the city center to Legoland is about 2 kilometers and LEGO HOUSE is actually in the city center. IMO, You would be better off finding a place away from the airport, It is a 2mnt drive, you are next to other sights and you probably get to LEGOLAND faster than walking from one of the houses in...
Read moreSome great bits, let down by some things that could be easily fixed.|First off, the accommodation. We arrived a couple of hours early but the service centre said our house was ready so we were able to go straight there to get settled which was helpful. The Nordic 8 house was a bit dated but clean and warm. We had the bed linen rental but be aware you only get one very thin bath towel each. Each bed only had one very lumpy and thin pillow so if you are fussy about them, make sure to take your own. Our house also had very thin blinds at the windows, meaning the kids would be woken up very early. We hadn’t taken blinds, but stuck some paper on the windows which helped.|There were plenty of toilet rolls, dishwasher tablets, and bin bags for our 3 day stay, which was surprising given other reviews I’d read.|The area where the houses are is very quiet, and there are lots of lovely play areas scattered about.|It can be a long walk from some of the properties to the main building. We tried to get the land train a couple of times but it was either absent or completely full, if you have accessibility needs or little children, you’d be better off getting the annual parking pass and driving round to the entrance car park.|The centre itself was impressive, there was so much to do. We didn’t really need to queue or wait for anything which was good but I’d recommend getting the gold armbands if you want to do other activities than swimming/soft play as the cost could quickly add up.|The swimming at the Aquadome was brilliant and the kids absolutely loved it. The only thing that let it down was the changing rooms. There are only about 6 family changing rooms, meaning anyone with kids over 6 years old either has to separate from them, or wait a really long time to use the family changing cubicles. The changing rooms also needed a good clean by the afternoon. |Food offerings were good but expensive (same as the rest of Denmark). They were quite helpful with allergen awareness and the staff working in the food places were really helpful in that regard too.|The location for Lalandia overall was great, and it was easy to walk to Legoland from there too.|I would go back in future, but helpful to be aware of its...
