Been here for dinner.
Last year they had a buffet option so it was extremely easy to eat at a decent pace for the whole family.
This year instead they changed the concept: the buffet is available only for kids and for the adults have only an a la carte menu. Which it wouldn’t be a problem if the service wouldn’t be so terribly slow. It was impossible to keep the same pace for dinner between kids and adults. We ordered two course menu for the adults and a buffet kid (the most expensive portion of fries and cucumbers of my life, considering that our child didn’t like anything else available from there).
Our starters arrived at 19.33, when the child was done with dinner and we didn’t get our drink for 20 minutes, so we had to ask twice for them, as obviously our child was desperate for something to drink after over 15 minutes of eating.
We booked a table at 19 and dinner was over at almost 21, again not a problem in normal circumstances, but not when kids are around and they have a buffet menu, which was done within 30 minutes.
It was a nightmare, as our child was very tired and therefore overactive and reactive, the only thing I wanted was eating fast and put him to sleep as it was a long day with a long journey we went through, to arrive to Legoland.
In addition, there is a kids area in the restaurant BUT it’s full of video games…which is not what I allow/want to entertain a child, being myself very careful about screens/screen time in my child routine...so in the end, I entertained the child with the Lego we had in the room and a board game we took from home.
The staff at the restaurant is nice and really polite, but the service is embarrassingly slow considering that the target isn’t “adults alone” but families with young kids. I strongly believe they should have been way faster than they were.
Overall there’s surely space for improvement.
On the positive: Food tasted good and was nicely presented...
Read moreReason for low rating is false marketing. They present buffet and various drink options on a 1-pager stamped with a fixed price - making you think it includes everything unless you read the fine print.
We pre-booked this place because of fixed price - and would have selected another place if beverages wasn't included. But when Legoland shuts down and you've brought your kids for buffet, you don't turn around when you realise you are a victim of false marketing.
In contrast to many others, we enjoyed the food a lot and received excellent service (like really excellent people on deck) - they even removed some water from our bill when we responded to the courtesy question "was everything alright?", with "almost, but we are very disappointed with the marketing and assumed at least some beverages would be included". They also told us they hear this complaint a lot...
I decided to give them 1 star immediately after finding out how they scam people - but because everything was so great, I cannot give them below 2 stars in the end.
I've attached photo that is a copy of the internet marketing, where you can see "excl. beverages" below the price. I feel pretty sure I saw a version of this without this "excl. beverages" online. Someone really should report them for this behaviour so they could get fined and adjust their practice to be lawful. Simply stamp first half related to food with the price, make a horizontal line and mention beverages options clearly separate...
Read moreOverall disappointing experience.
We arrived at 2pm for lunch. The restaurant was empty - two other families were already eating. Other then the rest of the Legoland hotel, the restaurant lacked in atmosphere and was a bit smelly.
We ordered: 2 salads (average quality) 1 cheese platter (average quality) 1 burger (chips good quality, beef patty raw, bread hard) 1 kids buffet (dry chicken nuggets, dry pasta, dry meatballs, dry chips - all food tasted like it was cooked several hours ago and kept under the heat lamp) 2 beers (good quality)
We asked for one plate for the 2 years old to share food from the adults. The food took 25 min to be served. During the wait we shared 2 chicken nuggets + 1 meatball from her brother. For that we were charged two kids buffets as we found out later.
Total = DKK 850. A bit rich for a ‘fast food’ lunch for 3 adults and a 2...
