As a world traveler, and a native to this country, I cannot recommend this place.
In the last 5 years I've stayed in over 50 hotels, in 5 different countries. From 5 star resorts to 1 star Air BnBs. This is the worst treatment I've ever received by management. The rest of the staff was courteous.
Weekend of August 27.
I was in a group but this is my INDIVIDUAL experience.
Pros: Beds were clean. Common areas were clean. Quiet hours.
Cons: Breakfast gave me food poisoning for 4 days. I know it wasn't just me with a personal health issue because someone else in the group also got food poisoning for 2 days. Nobody at the front desk after 10:00 PM. The security guard (who looked under the influence of drugs) doesn't like to call the manager after 10:00 PM because the manager is the owner of the hotel and has told him not to bother them after that time.
Context: Upon arrival I discovered my room had no wifi or cellphone signal and the manager said I was the first and only person to say that. I tried to show them but they were not interested. I showed other people in my group.
They did not provide any alternative solutions (not even to change my room the next day when another room become available). My options were to stay the weekend with no cellphone or wifi signal, or to leave.
I was going to leave but my group resolved the issue by switching rooms amongst ourselves.
I apologized to the manager for waking them up at 10:45 PM. They did not accept my apology. Instead of being glad we stayed they, became very hostile towards me for the remainder of my stay. The next morning I got food poisoning, and was very ill for 4 days.
I have a lot of details I could put here but they are not constructive. All I can offer is 2 suggestions:
My recent stay at this hotel was marred by a distressing discovery of a cockroach in my bed. When I raised the issue with the hotel staff, they initially seemed annoyed and dismissive, which was disappointing given the situation. The following morning, we encountered another cockroach, but chose not to escalate the matter further.
During breakfast, we overheard the owner Ruth, making disparaging remarks about us, showing a lack of professionalism and care towards guests. The overall attitude and lack of customer service from the staff left me feeling frustrated and disappointed.
Guests should expect a certain level of customer service and care in situations like these. The owner's attitude reflects poorly on the hotel's cleanliness and maintenance standards. It is crucial for hospitality establishments to prioritize guest satisfaction and uphold cleanliness regardless of affordability.
I hope the owners learn from this experience and improve their handling of such situations in the future. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel due to the lack of proper customer service and dismissive attitude towards...
