DO NOT got to this hotel. My wife son and nephew and I went there for one night before our trip to Las Terranas the next morning. We got a large room with a bay view which was beautiful but the room had a stench. I had my wife ask if they could clean the room and they agreed while we went down to the malecon for drinks and dinner. When we got back I stopped at the bar to get a couple of mojitos brought up to the room and there was this old women in the back scowling at us. I am guessing it was the managers mother. So we head off to Las Terranas which is over an hour drive away and begin to unpack when my wife noticed stains on most of the clothes in her bag. It was some kind of actual acid because she tried to wash them out and the material just disintegrated. ACID if you can believe it. Sooooo the wife calls and the manager said maybe the Mistolin which they use for cleaning and disinfecting (hiding the stench) got in the bag mistakingly. |NOPE. Someone had to take clothes out of the bag and poor this ACID on random pieces of clothing in this bag and put them back in the bag. Mistolin will not burn thru clothing. Also these pictures were obviously taken years ago because it is now run down and not well maintained with crazy old ladys waving bottles of acid around because she had to pay a cleaning person 100 pesos ($4 US) extra to get the stench out of our room. |Being good hearted I believe it's a case of the managers mother being too old and a little demented to be involved in the business which I am sure is hers. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT ever go here. There are cabanas near there for a quick one night stay over for very cheap where I am hoping there are not angry old lady's waving acid bottles around.|We are fairly well traveled and I have never given a bad review because I believe bad reviews are very damaging to a business. If I did not like the place then I will never go there again but this was EXTREME and warranted this scathing review.|We should have called the police but who knows how that works over there. |Samana itself is a great town with good reasonably priced food and drinks. You can ferry over to the island and see the whales on the way. We love Samana but this hotel...
Read moreThe only good thing about this restaurant are the views. I’ve been visiting this area for 15 years. I’ve lived here for almost a year. Is my first time eating at this restaurant. It was not a good experience. The views were great and the wine was ok.
I had asked for three different wines that were on the menu, but they did not have any of them. Finally, they let me walk back and pick a bottle of wine off the shelf. It was OK.
We ordered steak and chicken. Neither one of our plates were edible. I took two bites of my steak and I gave one bite to my partner. We agreed it was terrible. Then we tasted her chicken and it was also terrible. We notified the staff immediately. They cleared our plates and gave us the bill. The bill was for the total amount. I insisted I was not paying for food that I did not eat and could not eat. I explained that I was very hungry and was going to another restaurant to eat. I had to fight with them for almost 30 minutes to get one of the plates taken off the bill. I refused to pay for the other plate as we did not eat any of the food. I had asked for a manager and A boss many times and they explained there’s not one there. I explained that I live here and I can come back tomorrow. They explain no one will be there tomorrow either. Overall, it was a terrible experience and I would...
Read moreI just went to this restaurant a few hours ago with my family and I had the worst service I have ever experienced. I went to this restaurant with high expectations but this was such a disappointment. We waited for over an hour, in an empty restaurant, to get our food, that didn’t even end up being that good. Our server was so rude any time we wanted to ask for anything. She told my dad she’d get the food once he sat down then sat and laughed with the other servers for like 10 more minutes. Also, at the end she straight up admitted that the food was taking long because they were taking pictures of it. On top of that, she never asked us “how are things going? Do you want water? Do you want refills”. Plus she completely forgot what one of us ordered. To top it all off, this restaurant has been recommended to us by multiple people and we know it has been open for decades and is family owned. The fact that this sort of treatment to customers can pass, is just not right. I don’t know how they stay in business. Having attitude with the customers who have been nothing but kind, taking ages to bring out the food (so long that two of my family members fell asleep), and then on top of that having low quality food. It was just disappointing. Also it is noted on the menu, but they charge around 28% for tip/service...
