The pictures are accurate and this place is amazing. The staff are excellent and helpful. My room was very nice and comfortable with a good hot water shower. There is great pride taken to keep everything clean and beautiful flowers in the common areas. The included breakfast is very good. The walk into town is not difficult and you will find many restaurants and stores. I actually like being on the edge of town as its quiet and offers great views of the area. This is a great hostal and i would definitely return. Thank you

Clean, quiet and comfy hostel. The staff is so helpful and friendly. They try their best to answer inquiries and meet all requests. We met the owner, Mr. Bolivar Pacheco, by chance one day in the lobby. He introduced himself to us. Long story short, he drove us himself in his car to a zipline adventure we were seeking. When we checked out, he happened to be in the reception and insisted on driving us to the bus terminal. Can't recommend this place enough!

Stayed here based on the good reviews and wasn’t disappointed. It was perfect - clean, comfortable, hot water with good water pressure, good wifi, very friendly staff, and a great location a 10-15 minute walk from town which was great as it was quiet and it’s always nice to walk after dinner. The price was also super good as I paid $20 for a single. I can’t recommend this place enough.

On plus side, the hostal is quite, provides good services such as hot shower, good breakfast, comfortable bed, cable channels. There is also free parking, so in general I think people who come in their own car are well served. Nice view on mountains, but from the room I had also view to parking lot. It only takes 10 minutes to go to the termas el Salado. ||On less pleasant side, not the hostals fault but fact of life nevertheless... The walk from city centre is really no more than 10 minutes. However these are not the most pleasant 10 minutes to be had. Walking through desolate streets after dark, not the best feeling. And I had even less pleasant experience - to get to the hostal I had to pass over a bridge. One day some 3 dogs who were camping next to it got excited chasing a bike and decided that I was the next target of interest. Really made me uncomfortable to walk past there, so I spent way too much time designing alternative routes and in general being nervous around dogs in town, of which there is plenty. Sure you can take taxi to avoid all that. But my experience of Baños was really affected, as a matter of fact I had another unpleasant encounter with another group of dogs while trekking. Nothing other than a bit of scare happened on either occasion, but it can actually be dangerous.||Also, blow-dryer would have been nice. Kitchen is not available for...

Nothing but great things to say about our 5-night stay at Hostal Monte Carmelos in the sweet town of Banos. From the get-go, Bolivar, the kind, gentle and friendly owner of the small hotel, let us know he was at our beck and call. We learned so much about the area from him. Twice, he drove us to the bus station. He couldn't do enough for his guests. Our room, number 7, on the second floor had great mountain views and was the quietest place we've ever stayed. Everything worked well, including the Wifi. Our room was spacious, the bed was comfy and we were supplied with fresh towels daily. We loved the breakfasts that were included in the room rate. The location was great, too, only a 10-minute walk to Centro. We booked a one-day Amazon tour thru Bolivar and had an amazing time. Highly...

MARAVILLOSA!!
