Hotel Majestic 2 by HHG — Hotel in Cuenca

This actually the Hotel Majestic II. It helps to have the actual address - Calle Gran Columbia #207 - or cabbies have a hard time.||||It is a tiny boutique hotel within 6-8 blocks of cathedrals, museums and fantastic restaurants (see my review of Los Testios!) near the center or old Cuenca.||||We requested a ground floor - there is no elevator and we have squeaky knees. There are 3 rooms on the ground floor and a few more on the next floor up. (Remember that this is Ecuador and the 1st floor is one up from ground!)||There are a few tables for breakfast-$3 p/p. Lots of other restaurants close by.||Eddison is the owner? manager? He speaks good English and has great ideas of things to see and do in Cuenca.||Our room is smallish with a double bed with toasty comforter, decent sized bath with a huge shower and an armoire for clothes, TV with remote, adequate lighting (I always carry a headlamp for in-bed reading). Everything we needed for a comfortable stay!||We would definitely stay here again.||Please note that I don't give 5 stars only to deluxe hotels or restaurants but to also to those who do what they do very well in their category. Super nice host. They greeted us with the biggest welcoming. The room was upgraded and it was spacious. She asked if we wanted a more quiet room we said yes but this comes with a window view to the hallway vs a window to the street which can be noisy. It has a tv in the room. There is a train station which is practically across the street. You are about a 20 min walk to the bus terminal and about 10-30 min walk into town. The breakfast was a full meal which was really nice. They have hot water for you to have 24/7 for prepackaged coffee or tea. About one week ago I rested in Hotel Majestic 2. I can share with you my lovely readers that this hotel is good. The rooms are a little old and you can hear some noise from the other floors. The service is very nice. I think that this is the best of the hotel. About the location is also something to talk about because you have stores, restaurants, museums, parks, and different places where you can do tourist activities.
