Hostal Henrry's — Hotel in Mindo

I would like to share my experiences with this Hostal that you know what to expect. We booked it because it was cheap and have a kitchen. Well, the kitchen was not clean and also not well equipped. She had just two Potts and one pan, no forks…. Ah and in the morning for breakfast time the kitchen is locked.. so no breakfast. So we felt not very comfortable to cook there. The hostal was cheap as I said but the rooms look very old as for example the color of the wall inside the rooms is falling down, Moscito net at the windows is broken etc…

The worst thing was, that our toilet in the bathroom was not working. First day he tried to fix it but couldn’t. We just got a key for the kitchen because they have another toilet there. We should use this toilet instead. Well it was the wrong key so in the morning we could go to Toilet till he woke up… and this bathroom is even older and not clean at all ! :( We thought next day we get a new room or they try to fix it but no. We arrive back at evening and need to sleep in the same room again. Next day we moved out. When we paid we though we get a discount because of the toilet and when asking him friendly but not at all. After arguing with him we payed only 1 dollar left! So he not even understand our problem. Isn’t that polite?

Ah and the hostal owner speak only Spanish so be prepared.

We would recommend to pay a bit more but have a really nice hostal for example „cinnamon Hostal“ that also offer kitchen and dorm beds for cheap price!

But you can make your own experience….we wouldn’t...

Hello everyone I want to share my impressions about this hostel. I came here have funny holydays with my girlfriend. I expected to get comfortable conditions for us, which include Internet, light, electricity, warm water. However, in the middle of the day it turned out that there was no electricity supply. There was light in other hostels and my girlfriend and I wanted to take the money back and find another hostel. Hostal Henrry is a small, safe, clean hostal next to the bus terminal and walking distance from the square in Mindo. My room was simple and perfect for my solo travels. Each room has a porch with table and bench, perfect for having coffee or getting in the laptop. The bed was comfortable, had hot water and decent WiFi. The owners Henrry + Marisol were LOVELY and kind and even made sure I felt welcome at a celebration going on at the local church. Henrry’s offers tubing too!!! Most fun i had the entire trip!!!
