Hostal Casa Taisha — Hotel in Parroquia Manglaralto

Usually I like to give a positive review and leave the bad once a but this was definitely our worst stay ever in South America! ||We have booked for 4 nights for $50 per night. OK, with new year in montañita you don't have to expect a 5 star hotel for this price but this was really bad. ||Our room was without any daylight and fresh air so it has a lack of oxygen and was extremely hot. Even during the fresh nights,we had to sleep with our front door open to get a little bit of air. |We got 2 tiny towels and when we asked them to change the towels after 2 days they refused. |Even when we asked for new toilet paper they told us to go to the shop ourselves... ||The room was very dirty, blood stains on the walls, mold in the bathroom and they didn't empty our open bin in the toilet. Very disgusting if you know that you're not allowed to throw the toiletpaper inside the toilet in Ecuador. ||So if you're looking for a nice place to stay in Montañita, please look for an...

We stayed at this hostel around New Years, and could not be happier with our decision. Although it was a bit more expensive than we are used to, so are most accommodations in this beach town. It is located so close to the beach that you can hear the waves, but it is just far enough from the main town that you can get a good night's sleep. Be aware that Montanita is extremely loud at night, and you may want to find accommodation that is a little outside of the main area. ||||The hostel itself was very clean, and our private room was comfortable and spacious.
