We stayed here on July 2021. There were 5 of us (2 adults and 3 children - 13,11, and 9). We loved that the hotel was right on the beach and that we could get to the beach easily. The rooms were nice and clean. We loved the buffet breakfast and the service that we got each morning from the wait staff. Breakfast had a lot of options.

The room was a little small for our family (although I will say that the room isn't mean to fit 5 people), we asked the manager if we could do this because we didn't want to split the family up. The manager kindly agreed to let us do this, but when comparing to other hotels we stayed at the room was still a little small.

In general the staff was very nice, but they did try to charge us a really expensive rate for a late check out. Please be aware that their check out time is 9 am, which in my opinion is way too early. After I complained about this, they did give us an extra hour to check out, but compared to the other hotels I stayed in the Galapagos Islands, no one else charged us a late check out fee.

Overall though, we would consider...

We had a fantastic stay here! As soon as we arrived, Amy warmly greeted us. She had our (heavy) backpacks taken to our room, then sat down with us to explain the layout of the community. We mentioned some activities we were interested in and she whipped out her cell to book them on our behalf. This saved us so much time! We were island hopping so every second is precious. Amy took all the hassle or worry of our visit and as a result, our short, 2-day stay was incredible.

ROOMS: Comfortable bedding, stunning ambience, efficient AC unit, lovely shower, and towels for both beach and bathroom.

FOOD: The morning breakfast was good and kept us full during our day excursions. The morning we checked out, Amy was kind enough to send us with some snacks because we would be leaving before the breakfast was available.

LOCATION: Central to the town and easy walking to all restraunts as well as the flamingo lagoon. Additionally, the private beach is beautiful. The water was too rough during our stay but we took some amazing photos and enjoyed walking the shoreline...

We had a great 4 night stay at Isamar Hotel. The owner is very kind and helpful when I reached out to him for anything on WhatsApp. He was kind enough to offer my husband and I free breakfast, as it wasn’t included in the room we booked. The hotel is right on the beach. Has plenty of loungers, chairs and tables to sit at. Room has comfortable bedding and pillows, ice cold AC, hot water and ample storage. Breakfast was nice and had good options. Our only complaint was the lady at the front desk. I don’t know if it was a language barrier or just lack of desire to help….but we asked for help with contacting a tour company for us, help with adding an extra night to our stay, asking about breakfast options and some other general things that she seemed to bothered to help with. We found her to be of no help to us….but when I reached out to the owner, he was quick to help, which was nice! We would...

The owner and the staff were all friendly, cheerful, and helpful. Nice hospitality. I wish I could have stayed longer here. The rooms were clean and in relatively new condition. Plenty of power points. Good water pressure and temperature for shower. Shower facilities were decent and useful, especially if you have a late departure after checking out the room early, or if you arrive all in sweat before your room is ready for check-in. We did see a big roach in the room, but it’s common for bugs on the island anyway, so not bothering us at all. Katie who’s volunteering here all the way from the UK was proactive to help out anyone who preferred speaking English to Spanish, making sure the guests had a pleasant experience. There’s a lack of similar offerings on Isla Isabela, so I believe the seemingly high prices are well-deserved as a scarcity premium.

The location on the beachfront is excellent - this appeared to be one of the better beachfront ones with true direct access to the beach. The staff were attentive - particuarly the staff member that is the doppelganger of Asa Butterfield (aka Otis) - he was excellent. The food was great, not many reviews online as the kitchen is new, but the quality was much higher than elsewhere and the price was fair. The ceviche was the best we had, but the tuna tartar was the best thing they had on the menu. They also have a happy hour 5-9pm.

Wonderful hotel right on the beach. Hotel staff were friendly and went out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. One of the guests was vegetarian and they had prepared a vegetarian plate for her for breakfast, without her asking. Room was spacious and tastefully decorated. Shower had plenty of hot water and pressure- a rarity at times on the islands. We had an early departure, and they brought a boxed breakfast to our room. Wish we could have stayed longer!
