We stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed our time. The house is located a bit outside the city center, in a quiet area with small grocery shops and fruit stands nearby. There are a few local restaurants about a 10–15 minute walk away, though we didn’t have a chance to try them. Even though it’s a rather secluded area, we felt completely safe during our stay.
The place is within walking distance to the Medinet Habu Temple, so you can really feel the ancient Egyptian atmosphere around you. If you wake up early, you can watch hot air balloons rise right next to the house — an absolutely amazing view!
Our host, Mohammed, was simply outstanding — probably the best host I’ve ever met. He greeted us personally, gave us a welcome coffee, showed us around and inside the house, and explained everything in detail. On the first day, he even accompanied us to the city center, gave us a small boat ride across to the East Bank, and walked with us around the Cornish area, all while chatting in a very kind and relaxed way.
(Just to be clear and to avoid setting any wrong expectations for future guests — we, of course, paid for the short boat ride and the taxi ourselves, as that’s completely normal and how it should be. We’re only mentioning this so that no one misunderstands and so Mohammed isn’t put in an awkward position — he was incredibly generous and helpful throughout our stay.)
The house itself was spotless and very comfortable. There are two bedrooms, a spacious living room with an open kitchen, and a clean bathroom. The beds and sofas were very comfortable — we had two nights of truly restful sleep. The towels provided were clean and fresh. The Wi-Fi was fast, and although we didn’t use the TV, everything looked well maintained. Mohammed had already done all the cleaning and pest control, so we had no problem with flies or mosquitoes. There’s also a lovely small garden with a few gazebos. We had breakfast there the next morning — Mohammed prepared it himself for a small extra fee. It was simple but tasty: fried potatoes, olives, eggs, and tea — a nice start to the day.
One night, the bathroom drain got clogged due to a mistake by a previous guest. As soon as we told Mohammed, he came immediately, fixed it within ten minutes, cleaned everything himself, and apologized several times even though it wasn’t his fault. He handled it with great professionalism and kindness.
He also arranged a full-day tour for us the next day so we could visit Luxor’s temples and tombs efficiently in one day, with a knowledgeable local guide at a fair price (no tourist traps!). On our first evening, he asked what kind of food we’d like, made some great suggestions, and let us choose the place ourselves. Once we decided, he kindly joined us in the taxi to make sure we got there comfortably. The restaurant turned out to be a great choice — we really enjoyed it! After making sure everything was fine, he wished us a pleasant dinner and left us to enjoy our family time in peace.
On our departure day, he arranged a taxi to the airport for a reasonable price and woke up at 4 a.m. just to say goodbye in person — a truly thoughtful gesture. Throughout our stay, he was always available if we needed anything.
All in all, the location may be a bit remote, but it’s peaceful, safe, and clean. We spent two very pleasant nights there and left feeling happy and grateful. Mohammed’s hospitality made our stay in Luxor truly memorable. Highly...

It has a relaxed countryside charm where you can enjoy afternoons in the garden, or look at the stars and the views of the mountain at night. There was also a small lime tree that you can use for a refreshing juice, which our host kindly provided for us as well.
While the Wi-Fi was weak inside the house and one bedroom lacked AC (something to consider if visiting in summer), the host Mohamed, mentioned plans for improvements. I took it as an opportunity to disconnect and enjoy the nature around us.
What truly made this stay special Mohamed’s hospitality. This felt like a real BnB experience. You can interact with him anytime unlike most airBnbs managing everything online. He helped us with essentials, boosted our Wi-Fi, and was always respectful and attentive. When I got sick, he went out of his way to get me medicine and made sure I felt better that day. I genuinely appreciate his kindness.
At this price point, staying here is a no-brainer for your trip to Luxor. Hope I can...
