Restaurant Mohamed — Restaurant in Al Baairat Village

A Taste of Luxor. I first tried this restaurant in 2001, then in 2005 and now in 2025. It never disappoints.

Stepping into Restaurant Mohamed felt like an instant transport to the heart of Luxor's West Bank. The vibrant colors, the aroma of delicious food cooking away, and the warm welcome from the owner (Azab) immediately set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The food was absolutely divine.

For my main course, I indulged in mulukhiyah (Egyptian standard) and kofta, both of which were cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor.

The atmosphere was incredibly lively and inviting. Jazz tunes playing in the background added to a unique Egyptian/Western ambiance. When in Luxor West Bank and are looking for a delicious and memorable meal, Restaurant Mohamedis...

A very nice place for any moment of the day, best food and drinks I’ve ever tasted and great, kind service. There’s jazz music and it’s very nicely decorated. I’ve been coming here for years and it’s amazing. It’s not an ordinary restaurant, you can see the family that owns it has done a lot to make it as it is now. The atmosphere is like your in another world, in a good way. The food is in perfect amounts and you can easily come here with 1 person, but also with 50 people. It suits all. Very nice view on the mountains and around the corner at the colossi of memnon. There’s fans to cool down, you can sit in- and outside. Fantastic food, beautiful setting, amazing service, inexpensive! Get the kofta and aubergine - best meal Ive had in Egypt (and Ive been here 3 weeks)! Great home-cooked meals in a beautiful garden steps from all the sites of the West Bank (it's located 15 steps from the central ticket office for all sites).

Also, knowing it can be hard sometimes in Egypt for tourists, the family that runs this restaurant also offers tours and taxi service at local prices. It was so refreshing to see locals who went out of their way to help me without expecting (or often in Egypt, demanding) money.
