Café & Restaurant Maratonga - Medinet Habu, Luxor — Restaurant in Al Baairat Village

Very nice and good atmosphere and energy. We are very happy to found this lovely place and the kind owners Sayed and his daughter Masrya do a very fantastic service and honest people. You never find other honest people like this family here. Location is in front of Habu Tempel. The food is fresh and for every taste something on the menu. The prices are very good. The prices are listed on a menu on English. The toilets are clean with toilet paper and soap. We also had a look at the cute kitchen where the family prepare the tasty food also very clean and good staffed. Thank you for the family and the staff to welcome us so much and so friendly.

Family run restaurant right in front of the Hebu temple with delicious food and the best prices. They are all very welcoming and attentive to their customers and can speak very good English (some better than others but they help each other out too). We went here twice in our 3 day stay on the west bank. Our favorite meals were the omelette and the falafels (ordered off the menu). The bread and salad they provide are excellent as well. They also had some other good vegetarian friendly options. Best of all they do not try to hustle you and it's a very relaxed environment. We really needed this genuine attention after a few days in Luxor where you just want to be left alone. They didn't ask me to leave a review, and I usually don't do reviews, but this place deserves 5 stars and I wish them all the success...

Food was delicious. So far this is the best experience for me in luxor.. if luxor was filled with people like this family than it would be a much greater place. The owner even brought out the family falcon (Tonga) for my son to see up close. The overall feel of this place is pleasant and comfortable. I would recommend going to anyone wanting to enjoy local eats. We had an issue with my taxi driver fighting for a commission when he found out we walked here instead of allowing him to take us to some high priced restaurant for the commission. And the owner did his best to not allow that to affect our meal or time even though I knew exactly what was going on. I hope to be back in egypt soon and this restaurant will be on my top...
