BE AWARE OF THIS HOTEL!!!!! FAKE REVIEWS, WHICH THEY PUSH FOR!
Where do i start:-
Firsty, the hotel encourages false reviews, the animator team took my partners phone to write a review on TripAdvisor in her name and she never knew. Totally fake!
Great location, 5 minutes to the marina by taxi ( avoid the guy outside..), there is a few very good good bars and restaurants around it and shops, pharmacy etc, their beach is very good, albeit a walk across a road but the AI continues and it is a sandy beach, very good.
We checked in at 9.30pm and missed dinner, nothing offered, the receptionist was VERY cold and stale and unhelpful. The bar in the lobby was closing at 10pm so we thought was very uninviting to arrive at after a long flight. We were taken to our room, was a long walk to 4204 but in hindsight it was quiet! The room area was in disrepair with rubble around and poor upkeep. The room itself was VERY clean and well equipped, air con was loud however and pillows very hard, only gripe we had there. The housekeeping service was excellent, they changed towels, made beds and cleaned daily, including towel art and topping up the fridge with more water and even a coke!
The pool area is good, lifeguards keep you safe, the slides operate 3 times a day under supervsion to keep all guests safe. The pools are clean apart from the childrens pool, it was utterly disgusting with dangerous missing guards on the concrete and it just looked like not been cleaned at all.
The pool bars are manned by good staff, Mina stands out as the bars manager, he explained all like the availibilty to book at the Italian or Oriental restaurant, the younger barman by the bottom pool at old reception really takes care of his guests too. The lobby bar is very clean and has air con, staff are VERY disinterested however, almost rude.
The food, it's tasty, but EXACTLY the same every day, even down to the layout. We ended up eating out most nights as it had no appeal. The restaurant has no air con also so you feel like are made to leave. Also there is not much seating, just like in the drinks area, dont start me on the poor plastic cups you get which blow away in the wind! It seems the whole AI concept is there as a taken, but they want you to not enjoy.
There is no tip boxes anywhere apart from the restaurant, so understandibly, staff dont seem interested.
The tour guides, Mina and Mohammed are very good selling excursions, both have good English and genuienly offer a good service, i've been to Egypt over 20 times and these guys are genuine so please use if you do go.
The reception team need a bit of work, very bad at communication, i asked for availability for late checkout, i was told come back at 10am on day of departure. Fair enough, i did but then was told to pay $30, again fair enough, as i did not have it in cash i was told its ok dont worry, well at 12.30pm they were knocking on my door asking why i never checked out! a phone call via the concierge sorted it but a waste of my day.
Finally, AVOID the taxi mafia at the old reception. The main guy parked up daily, will hassle you and try to befriend you, he is the worst scammer i ever seen in Egypt, do not trust at all. He tries to tell you he will be your guide etc but in reality will rip you off, tried to charge us 600LE just for airport entry ( its 30LE) and the ÂŁ10 fare which is...
Read moreA hard part about Egyptian culture is they try to take advantage of tourists to get money at every opportunity and weâve experienced that in 7 cities we visited and that culture was strong at this hotel.
My husband was sick with a cold when we arrived and he saw a sign the resort had an on-site doctor. So we went to visit him and he recommended we go to the nearby hospital for help. We said we just wanted cold medicine but he said my husbandâs ears could be infected from swimming in the ocean so better to get expert help. We asked him 4 times how much it would be and it kept saying better to wait and see cause he doesnât know.
When we arrived at the hospital, they asked where were from and when we answered they totally treated us different and said it would be $300 just to see the doctor. That is an insane price for Egypt, even for the US. We left because we realized the hotel doctor was just getting a commission by sending us there. We walked to a pharmacy and bought cold medicine ourselves and it was 200 Egyptian pounds which is $4âŚ
The next day at the resort, we went to get lunch and they said we couldnât get it that we only paid for partial board with breakfast and dinnerâŚ. so we asked how much to add lunch and they said it would be $80 for 5 lunches for usâŚ. that may not seem like much but in Egypt you can easily get a great meal for $1-$3 and they wanted to charge $8 per meal⌠so it all just seemed like a trap to get more money from us.
The food was average. The pools werenât heated and it was pretty chilly in April. Our room had old furniture falling apart and the bed was rock hard with huge round, hard pillows. Kinda clean, not great. And there was no wifi in the rooms, it was only supposed to work in the lobby but didnât even work for us there. No one spoke fluent English and it was so hard to communicate with anyone on the staff.
The water slides were fun in the afternoon and the spa was nice. The belly dancers and fire show were entertaining. Daily house cleaner that brought us water bottles. Beautiful beach in a close distance.
Lack of organization and communication. Never knew the daily events (no signs). They wanted us to find the animation team leader to ask instead of just having a clear signâŚ. The animation team lacked energy.
The staff seemed like they never knew what was going on. If the place just put more effort into their work, it would make it so much nicer. The food was okay but repetitive and desserts were always dry cake. The furniture in our room was broken and falling apart. Location is next to a loud...
Read moreThe hotel is a total disaster. Starting with the fact that itâs almost impossible to communicate with the staff in English upon arrival, and ending with the fact that the âfoodâ is disgusting and completely inedible. We didnât have high expectations due to the low price, but we didnât expect such terrible conditions either...||||The lobby has dirty couches with stains from drinks and crumbs from dry cookies offered to guests waiting for check-in. The rooms are tolerable, but they desperately need refreshing â ideally a full renovation of the entire place. The staff are extremely pushy and overly âhandsy.â The boy cleaning our room refused to leave until we gave him a tip, and the shop owner on the hotel grounds grabbed my hand and wouldnât let me leave after I said I wasnât buying anything because I had no money. I was really stressed, and Iâm glad my boyfriend was there with me.||||As for the food â as I said earlier â horrible. On top of that, there were constantly no utensils in the dining area, and there were so few seats that even when squeezing in with strangers, not everyone could fit. The meals were bland and clearly targeted at the main groups of guests (Arabs and Ukrainians/Russians), who made up the majority. The only fruit available was melon â probably because itâs the cheapest. There were no freshly squeezed juices, even though they were listed in the offer. Coffee was just instant powder with hot water from a boiler, and the milk was powdered too. The biggest shock for us was the lack of fries â something that could at least fill everyone up.||||The beach looked nice at first glance, and there were always enough sunbeds. A big plus is that the sea and beach are just across the street from the hotel. But the toilets on the beach were a nightmare â smelly, dirty, and neglected. The mirrors and sinks looked like they had never been cleaned. On top of that, there were constant pushy vendors trying to sell SPA treatments, diving trips, or safari/quad tours, making it very hard to relax. At lunchtime, the beach offered the same âsnacksâ every day: a bun with a piece of meat or plain pasta with a spoon of tomato sauce.||||The final straw â the âdrinks.â Alcohol was just poured 1:1 with cola, Sprite, or juice. Donât expect mojitos, sex on the beach, or any other basic cocktails.||||To sum up â I absolutely do not recommend this hotel. Even for such a low price, itâs simply not...
